Last week I went “home” for a few days and stayed with my sister and her family. I love gong to stay with them!!! It’s funny that every time I stay with them my sister warns me that her house is messy and Paycen’s stuff is everywhere and when I get there it does usually looks like a Paycen bomb blew up in the living room but you know what? I love it.
I love all of the toys and sippy cups everywhere. I love the dishes piled up in the sink (reminds me of my house, HA). I love the clean clothes piled high in the hampers in the laundry room. I love the pile of mail on the kitchen counter. I love that the bed in the guest room is always covered in craft projects. I love it all. It is truly a house that is lived in and loved in.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my house as well, but it’s just that. A house. It’s just Sophie and me and we don’t really leave the kitchen, living room, and my bedroom. It’s not really a home. There is a difference, believe me.
One day, hopefully, I will have the “mess” left behind of a family in a home and I’m sure I will look back on my single days in my house and miss it but for now I will settle for going to my sister’s and just soaking it all in. There truly is beauty in the chaos.
I will leave you with some pics I got of Paycen while we were picking blueberries at my Grandma’s last week. Love her and those blueberries…I think Paycen ate more than she picked! LOL!
Truth! It’s really something to see a home that is really lived in and loved. That’s the important stuff in life!! That’s the beauty of it all! Great post!!!
I love a home that is lived-in. I don’t sweat about the small messes in my home. Awww Paycen is a cutie!
She’s SO cute. And I totally hear you, I probably wouldn’t trade my messy apartment with little dolls I almost kill myself on for a clean house… although it would be nice for a few hours ;)
Ricci – I know the perfect book for you to get Paycen! It’s called Blueberries for Sal – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blueberries_for_Sal
Oh this sounds like my house and yea you’re right, it feels just like home! I’m sure you will have a mess to clean up before you know it :)
