Brownies and Slaw

This post contains affiliate links.

Happy late Father’s Day to all the Dad’s out there!!! I think I was about the only blogger out there to NOT post a gift guide for Father’s Day. Want to know why? I didn’t get my Dad a Father’s Day present. That’s just not a big deal in my family. I’m so terrible I even forgot a card. I know, I know…shoot me now. However, I did post the obligatory pic with my Dad on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter. Not that my Dad knows that because he is not into social media at all…LOL!

Want to know what I did for my Dad? Graced him with my presence and made him these kick ass German Chocolate Brownies. Recipe to come soon…

I also made homemade coleslaw!! Funny back story….after I talked to my stepmom about our Father’s Day lunch menu (she made ribs, my Dad’s FAVE) and I said I would take care of the sides and we decided my sister would do desert (she always does desert, it’s her “thing”. After I talked to my sister and told her of my plans to run by Sam’s after work and grab some coleslaw and potato salad this was her response…

And so this, my friends, is how I got conned into making possibly the best coleslaw I have ever put in my mouth. Again, recipe (a super easy one) to come soon of exactly what I did…

Enough with the food pics, I’m making my self hungry. Again.

So pretty much, I went to my Dad’s, we ate, we played with Paycen, and then we all left. All in all I would say it was an amazing day! I don’t get to see my family as much as I would like (since I live 2.5 hours away from them) so even the days I get to see them and we don’t do anything “special” are the best days.

Did you do anything special for Father’s Day?

The entire family comes over on Father’s Day. I don’t get to see my dad (6 hours away) but I send a card and money every year, but this year I didn’t mail it until Saturday because I had my grands all week and my mind was mush, so I told him that he would get to have a redo Father’s Day when he receives my card!

You did a good job on the slaw and the brownies! You can’t eat a card! :)

I didn’t do anything special for Father’s Day. We don’t make a fuss on those days. It is just another day for us.

I don’t get to see my dad on father’s day since we live over 8 hours away, but I did send him some gift cards that I hope he can use. We celebrated at my SIL and BIL house with my inlaws. We grilled out and also celebrated their 40th anniversary. It was a great day. I gotta try those brownies!!!
