Sick Day

This post contains affiliate links.

You may or may not have noticed my lack of posting last Thursday and Friday…sorry about that!! I went down hard with whatever stomach bug is going around while I was at work on Wednesday and didn’t feel any better until Saturday. Note to self – never talk about how great your immune system is because you work at a hospital. Karma is a bitch.

So what have I been up to since being stuck at home for 5 days? I have officially gotten caught up on all of my housework and homework, I have cleaned out my DVR, I have read every magazine in my house, and I have found some new “must see” shows. I am now obsessed with Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders…I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. I also have  newfound obsession with Courtney Kerr and I blame Rebekah for this. If you haven’t checked out her blog then you totally should…she seems like such a fun person!!

Speaking of Rebekah I am super excited to see her tomorrow!! We are getting manicures and going to a blog event, Bloggers in Bloom, in Little Rock. I am super excited about it!! It’s flowers, and food, and wine! You just can’t beat that!

I have been sooooo good about drinking water but during my sick days I gave in and drank  Diet Coke. And guess what? It tasted NASTY. It was sugary, and gross, and made me feel so bad after that I can honestly say that I am not going to be drinking another for a very long time. Water FTW!!!

I have to say that watching all of those episodes of DCC really makes me want to work out. Maybe they were exactly what I needed to get my butt back in the gym. I have been doing a LOT better on eating healthier since I’ve been sick. I haven’t wanted to go out and all I had in the house was veggies and grilled chicken. I also didn’t eat for 3 days thanks to this yucky stomach bug and so I lost 7 pounds. Not exactly the way I wanted to lose it but I’ll take a loss wherever I can!

I feel like I’m starting to ramble on so I better stop now while I’m ahead. I’m kind of glad I had the little break from blogging and work because now I feel recharged and ready to tackle this week. Tackle…LOL…yeah, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl last night. #SorryNotSorry #NotAFootballFan

How was your weekend? Do anything fun??
