Homemade Sugar Scrub

This post contains affiliate links.

Before Bloggy Boot Camp (BBC) I went all out. I got my hair cut, got a mani and a pedi, got my eyebrows threaded, and I got a spray tan. Why? Because I wanted to look my best! Duh…

I am going to admit right now that I was a spray tan virgin before last week. I had done plenty of reading up on it and even tweeted asking advice and one of the main things everyone kept telling me was exfoliate! You need to exfoliate reeeeeally good before a spray tan to get all of the dead skin off so the tan will last longer.

Well I got home from work the night before said spray tan and realized I was out of my favorite exfoliate!! What’s a girl to do? Get on Pinterest and make my own of course! Don’t start calling me Martha Stewart just yet, I had all two of the ingredients I needed to make it right there in my own kitchen. Are you ready for this…my not so secret Homemade Sugar Scrub recipe??

It’s super easy to make and only requires two ingredients. Are you ready for this super not so secret recipe???

Here you go…mix white sugar and Dawn with Olay (or any Daw will work) in a jar until it has a smooth consistency and that’s it!! That’s the secret!!

This is seriously my favorite sugar scrub now. I even gave it to my girls at BBC as part of their roomie gifts. I used it all over my body before I spray tanned and I have used it on my face and it makes it baby soft. It’s good for clearing up break outs. And it smells AMAZING!!

Hope you love this sugar scrub as much as I do!!

What’s a beauty product that you make at home??

I’ve heard good things about sugar scrubs, but I feel weird about rubbing sugar on my face! I’m worried that it would make me break out or something.

It’s not exactly something I make, but I’ve discovered that a small amount of olive oil helps my hair fight the frizz.

I keep wanting to try and make a sugar scrub. Love them and they make your skin look and feel great! I’m going to have to get off my butt and give it a try :). I’m more into the vanilla and cinnamon type scents :)

I’d have never thought to use Dawn on my face. Doesn’t it dry you out a bit? I’ve made scrubs using facial cleansers and baking soda, which I imagine is a little less abrasive than sugar. I’m willing to try this though~!

This is the Dawn with Olay so it’s not drying at all. And you’re not leaving it on, just a quick scrub with it. My skin is always super soft, smooth and very moisturized after, not dry at all!

I just made my own sugar scrub. I used coconut oil and I just love how it makes my skin so silky smooth! I will try your DIY sugar scrub too. I will just have to get me a jar of Dawn with Olay.

A homemade sugar scrub is so easy to make and makes the skin feel so soft. I have used a similar recipe for years and it always makes my skin feel amazing.

Sugar scrub is the best! I notice that when I don’t do a good sugar scrub, my skin is a lot more rough, uneven and I get those little red bumps on the backs of my legs from shaving! I’ll definitely be trying this out!

This is such a fun craft and easy to make!! Plus it’s the best sugar scrub I have ever used. And I’m not saying that just because I made it. LOL!!
