Happy Friday!! Can I get an AMEN for the freaking weekend!! I had the weirdest week ever!! It started with a bad ass sinus infection and ended with the Monday-est Thursday EVER. I mean, if one more thing went wrong with this past week I was about to ask for a do over. I’m just glad this week is OVER!!! Enough about that.
Since it’s Friday you know what that means, it’s time for the Friday Five! I feel like this week’s Friday Five could actually be an episode of never say never because three of the five things I am about to tell you I said I would never do and yet, here we are. Either I have just done said thing or I’m going to this weekend. FACE PALM.
Never say never y’all!!
ONE. Meal Prep. I meal prep all the time on my own. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love doing it because I feel so super organized but then I’m stuck eating the same thing every day and I can’t stand that so I don’t eat the food and then I wind up eating out because I don’t like the food I made. And I hate wasting food. UGH. It’s been a vicious cycle y’all.
I first heard of meal prep services I was like OH HELL NO. I thought they were expensive (most are), you didn’t get to pick the food and it would be a big waste because most meal preps you have to order a whole week’s worth of meals at once and you just get what the serve.
Enter into the picture Elite Meal Prep. It’s a weekly meal prep service in Central Arkansas that has a different menu each week and you only order what you want. There is no minimum and you pick the meals (from their menu that changes weekly) yourself. I ate Elite Meal Prep meals all last week (on the nights I worked) and already put my order in for next week! I love being able to pick out exactly what to eat from their menu and it’s cheaper than the Zaxby’s salads I was getting every night. True story.
Moral of that story – never say you will never order from a meal prepping service.
TWO. Lashes. I have always said I would never get lash extensions. They were too expensive, required too much maintenance, and I rub my eyes too much. Well guess who’s getting lash extensions later today?? This girl! HA!
A local spa is having a lash extension special the whole month of March and a full set is less than $100!! I figured why not try them since mascara is pretty much the only makeup I wear these days and how easy would that make my getting ready routine?? If it can save me time I am HERE FOR IT. So we will see how much I like them after tomorrow!
Moral of that story – never say you will never get lash extensions.
THREE. Float Spa. During Black Friday I purchased a float session at a local Float Spa that I haven’t used yet so I’m using it this weekend!! I remember when they first started advertising and I said it was something I would never do because I was too claustrophobic. Well it’s time to overcome some fears because I am ready to get all up in my own head for an hour! I think…
For those wondering a float session is where you get into a float pod/sensory deprivation chamber and submerge yourself for an hour. I say submerge, there is so much Epsom salt in the pod with the body temp water you float on top without even trying. Think Eleven in Stranger Things in the gym in the pool!
Moral of that story – never say you will never get into a sensory deprivation chamber.
FOUR. Ok, fine. Onto the Monday-est Thursday ever. I don’t talk about my dating life on here because there’s not really much to tell. When I was in college I got my heart just absolutely broken and I honestly don’t want to go through that again. Am I being a little dramatic? Probably. Do I have trust issues I need to work through? Absolutely. To make a long story short, the guy who absolutely broke my heart came back into my life about a year ago and said all the right things, made me believe he had changed, and then broke my heart for a second time this past week. UGH.
Should I have seen it coming? Yes. Did I plan on blogging any part of this? Absolutely NOT but it does feel good to write about it so maybe one day this story will get the full blog post it deserves. Until then that’s all you will get and I am and will probably always be single. And that’s OK! Trust me when I say I would rather be single than go through all of that again.
FIVE. If you have been reading this blog for any length of time you may remember a few years ago when I got Invisalign treatment. Well my dentist/orthodontist’s office is hosting an Invisalign Event that will be catered and you can get all the Invisalign info you ever wanted! You can have an assessment done, ask any questions and just hang out and have a good time. And yours truly will be there to take photos and answer any questions you may have as someone who has already completed treatment!
If you live in Central Arkansas come on out and hang, it’s going to be so much fun!!
So there you have it, this week’s Friday Five! I hope you have an absolutely wonderful Friday and an even better weekend!!!

Better to find out now and be able to move on with your life. Enjoy that float spa and look forward to seeing how you liked this type of spa. Never done anything like that before.

Happy Friday! I’ve never tried a meal prepping service, but I would for the right price. I hate to cook, so anything to make my life easier is a plus.
I don’t know if I’d like eyelash extensions or not. I have sensory issues, so they might be distracting.

I have been cooking myself for so many years and my kids like it but a meal planning service does sound interesting. I would get those lashes for a big event to look my best.

Happy Friday. I need to try that meal service and I need to find a floating spa like right now. They both would help me relax for sure

I have the same feelings about meal prep that you initially had. I’m curious if there is an affordable service in my area. This one sounds reasonable.

I gave up on dating at age 40 so I’m terminally single. Sometimes life is better without men. Hang in there if it is meant to be it will happen.

I’m not sure if I am claustrophobic , but maybe I’ll found out once I try that float spa. That is interesting and I’d love to give it a try.

Such a full week… and the best time of your life to move on and try new things, even all the things you said you’d never do!
How did you invisalign treatment go? I just started with clear liners and I’m happy so far.
