Brooks Ghost 10 vs Ghost 11

This post contains affiliate links.

Remember earlier this year when I got my first pair of Brooks shoes and became obsessed with them? Update…I’m still obsessed with my Ghost 10’s and have since purchased a pair of Ghost 11’s. Yes, they are expensive but these shoes are LEGIT the best things I have ever put on my feet and I do use them for different things. I wear my Ghost 10’s when I work out and wear my Ghost 11’s to work.

Since I have been wearing both pairs of shoes for a while now I thought it would be fun to do a little comparison and contrast of the two shoes since the 11’s are upgraded a little bit! Full confession- I love them both so there’s that! HA!

First things first let’s check out the specs of both shoes…

Ghost 10 | Ghost 11
Support: Neutral | Neutral
Midsole Drop: 12mm | 12mm
Weight: 8.8oz | 9.5oz
Arch: Medium, High | Medium, High
Experience Type: Cushion | Cushion
Technology: BioMoGo DNA | DNA LOFT, BioMoGo DNA

The main difference in the two shoes just by looking at the specs is that the Ghost 11’s are a tiny bit heavier and has the new DNA Loft technology.

Brooks Ghost 11 | Brooks Ghost 10

DNA LOFT technology is Brooks newest midsole compound that adapts to runners’ individual stride, weight and speed but provides a softer and more protected experience due to the midsole’s unique blend of Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), rubber and air.

Both shoes still have the Segmented Crash Pad which is an integrated system of shock absorbers to cushion every step you take. And both still have breathable mesh on top of the toe box to ensure a soft and secure fit although the Ghost 11 has a smaller mesh pattern so it doesn’t look as obvious. Either way both shoes have a super comfy toe box that both cushions each step you take and is super secure and breathable.

You may remember from my first post that I bought the Ghost 10’s in a wide width and didn’t realize it until I got home. I was kind of worried when I ordered the 11’s because they didn’t have a wide width yet but I decided to try them anyway and honestly I can’t even tell a difference. The 11’s are still super comfy and I can’t tell that the width is any smaller.

Overall I love both pairs of shoes! If you have been wanting to try a pair and are on a budget try the Ghost 10’s, they are on sale and if you like them as much as I do then you can upgrade to the 11’s (or 12’s or whatever is out) later. If you have a pair of 10’s and have been debating on getting the 11’s then I say go for it! You won’t regret it!

One thing to note about Brooks shoes is that you don’t have to be a “serious” runner to benefit from them. I love to wear mine to workout in (walking in the park, treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc) and for work (hospital setting). Bottom line, if you are going to be on your feet for an extended period of time you need to protect them! Spend the extra money on a good pair of shoes so your feet don’t suffer and you don’t hurt Brooks.

I haven’t tried these shoes before, but they look great. I jog daily so I always need a comfortable shoe. I might pick up a pair and see how they work for me!

I am a total sucker for sneakers. Not necessarily for how they fit and feel but for… THE COLORS – LOL!

I’ve never had Brooks sneakers before, but my husband has a pair and swears by them. I really need to get back into a fitness routine, and will definitely have to consider a pair.

Brooks was actually the first athletic shoe I purchased! I loved them a few years ago but need to get back into a workout routine. Thank you so much for taking the time to compare the two!

I’m a fan of the Brooks shoe brand. I’ve worn them since my track coach got them for us in high school. Really great support and good looking too.

I haven’t heard of these shoes before. I like the side by side comparison. I might have to do a little shoe piece on my Friday Faves. Inspiration!

Brooks are by far my favorite athletic shoe and my favorite Brook’s style are the Glycerins . If the soles of your feet tend to be sore these shoes are a great help because they are cushion to the MAX. The Glycerin 16 is amazing!! I’d love to buy another color. However, my husband would frown upon “yet another” pair of Brooks in the house, ha!!

Both the Ghost 10 and Ghost 11 pairs of shoes look great and trendy. I am sure they are comfortable too which is so important. The colours and the styling are great too.
