Back again?? I am!!
I have felt like I have been in a blog rut since pretty much the beginning of the year. My posts felt forced, I always felt rushed or like I was falling behind in my posting, I felt guilty when I didn’t put out content and then I just felt overwhelmed. Remember this post I wrote last fall about the different ways to get over a blog rut? Well I read that a few times myself and tried a few of those things but I finally just felt like I needed a break and you know what? That has honestly been the best thing for me!
So what have I been doing on my blogging break?? Good question!!
Social Media
For starters I cleaned out all of my social media accounts. One reason I didn’t want to blog was because I was feeling extremely uninspired. When I would look through my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts I would get literally just get mad scrolling through them. I felt like I didn’t know or recognize anyone I was following, like I kept seeing the same posts over and over again and like nothing in my feeds was relevant to my lifestyle. I mean, there are only so many “marriage advice”, “fashion posts for super skinny people” and “mommy and me” posts I can look at without completely losing my mind.
So you know what I did? I went through my followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and cleaned them out one by one. That’s right, I went through each account and unfollowed anyone who’s feed I wasn’t a fan of and you wouldn’t believe what a difference that has made! I love social media again!! I feel like I am finally seeing my friends and fellow bloggers accounts that I absolutely love and that has made social media fun again!! Yes, I have lost a lot of followers that way but I don’t care. They probably weren’t into my posts either and my engagement has gone waaaay up on all of those accounts so I call that a WIN.
Read
Y’all. I have read soooo many books, and not just audiobooks! Im talking legit, hold in my hand, turn the pages, BOOKS! I really need to write my March reads post because there are a lot of good books on there I can’t wait to share with you!!
Watch TV
I realize that most people wouldn’t brag about this but I have actually watched tv shows and movies and not multi-tasked by catching up on blog stuff at the same time. I caught up on some old shows and found some new ones to watch as well. I can’t wait to write a blog post about all of “my shows” because I have watched some really good ones you guys!!!
Work Out
I find that sometimes when I start something new it consumes me and working out has consumed me lately (and that’s not a bad thing!!). All that time I used to spend blogging I have poured into working out and I love that! One of my resolutions was to lose 30 pounds this year and since I had technically gained 7 pounds since I wrote that my new goal was 37 pounds and I am proud to say that I have lost 7 pounds over the past month so I am back at my original goal of losing 30 pounds for 2018! I can do this y’all!!
Clean
I have cleaned my house, my closet, my life, just everything!! I cleaned out my closet this past weekend and everything that was too big or I hadn’t worn in the past year got either thrown into a donation pile or got put on my Poshmark Closet. I still have a few things to take pics of but here is a link to my Poshmark Closet if you want to check it out. It’s mostly plus size stuff, a few work out items and I will be adding some plus sized swimsuits and pj’s later today.
Cook
I have also been in a rut with my meal prepping and so I decided to get on Pinterest and find some new things to make and while there have been some duds I have loved my new recipes and do you even know how good it felt to eat a recipe as soon as it was done instead of having to plate and stage my food for photos for blog posts?? HA!!
Sleep
I have caught up on so much sleep that I literally feel like a new person. It feels so good to sleep!!!
And I guess that’s about it. But you know what? It feels so good to be back and I can’t wait to start blogging on a regular basis again! I have missed you all!!!

That is so great that you are taking stock of what is important and getting rid of what is not. I have a bunch of clutter in my house and office I would love to get rid of. As far as blogging you need to step back once in a while.

Wooo welcome back! It sounds like you have been doing so much on your break! I mean was it really a break, or just a change of focus for a while ;). Hope it has helped you though.

Good to hear about your “Me Time” and how you enjoyed it. Sometimes, it’s really good for us to just take a break, clean our home and relax once in a while.

I can totally relate to my posts feeling forced, I have had sometimes like those lately as well. It has been kind of a weird year for my blogging but glad you are back!

Welcome back! It’s good to take a break sometimes. I think we all get to that place where it just isn’t fun anymore so if you clear your mind and start up again when you’re ready, you will find that you are better than ever.

Sometimes a break is all we need to feel refreshed and ready to blog again. And I’m always a fan of catching up on sleep.

Welcome back! It’s super inspiring to know you can do these big refresh sessions and come back strong. I need to clean out my social media.

And that’s exactly why I make sure to have my “me” time every single day to just relax and unwind because things on social media can overwhelm you. Good luck on your goals!
