I’m on a mission this year to use what I have in my makeup/skincare/hair care stash before I buy any more products. I am almost embarrassed at the amount of beauty products I currently own. In all fairness a lot of them were sent to me by PR companies and I am pretty good about going through them and only keeping what I know I will use but then I also continue to buy products and now my “stash” is out of control.
I am really good at using products all the way up before throwing them away and for the past month or so I have been keeping my “empties” to share them with you. This way I can review them and share products that I loved enough to use all the way up with you…confession- I had waaaaaay more skincare empties so I decided to so a completely separate post on that. I will probably share that with you next week.
Let’s start with my hair empties. I used up two different hairsprays recently, Bead Head’s Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray and drybar’s The Sherriff Medium Hold Hairspray. Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE FAN of both of these hairsprays. I always always always stock up on the Bed Head during an Ulta sale…either the 21 Days of Hair sale or the Black Friday sale. They usually run them for $5/bottle so I grab 4-5 and that will last me about a year. Well I didn’t shop either of those sales last year so this is my last bottle and I would be sad but I have soooo many other hairsprays I need to use that I’m not even mad about it, HA! Will I be repurchasing this hairspray? Sure, if I can find it on sale when I run out of my current stock of hairsprays. PS- IT’S ON SALE RIGHT NOW FOR $6.99 at ULTA!!!! RUN!!! OR CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE!!!
When I went to Dallas for the Texas Tech game I got a blowout at drybar and stocked up on a few of my fave products and grabbed this new (to me) hairspray. It is a medium hold and it lasts all day/night on my hair. I am obsessed with it and used the whole bottle in two months. It is sooooo HARD to not buy another can right now because it smells so damn amazing but I am refusing to let myself buy anymore until I use what I have in stock. Ugh. I will definitely be purchasing this again.
And now on to my makeup empties. I don’t have too many of these either right now but I am kind of obsessed with all of these products so there’s that! First up is the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Illumination Powder. It’s like the Bare Minerals but so much better. For starters it’s a pressed powder so it doesn’t get everywhere when I travel and secondly I just really love it. I was cited this product but I have already purchased another to replace it.
Next up is the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil. I actually got this as a freebie with an Ulta coupon a couple of years ago and it is so good that it has taken me this long to use it up! This is the first brow product that I have used consistently and just LOVED. I stocked up on it last year at the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale (they were 1/2 price!!) and have given a few away to friends. I’m telling you, this brow pencil is AMAZE and you already know I have repurchased it!!
One of my hands down, absolute favorite drugstore mascara brands, Loreal, came out with a stand alone lash primer a few years ago and since then I have been a fan. I have been through a few tubes already and this was my last one. I ventured out and purchased a different brand this time but this is a FANTASTIC product with a low price point!! Yes, I would definitely repurchase!
So there you have it, my very first hair product and makeup empties post. Expect more of these in the future (including a skincare empties next week!!) because I thought this was a fun post to write!!
Before I go I wanted to mention that I am amping up my email newsletter list and as an incentive to get you to sign up, it’s one weekly email (I promise not to flood your inbox), I am giving away this bag full of beauty goodies to ONE lucky person who signs up on Friday January 26!! Get yourself signed up and entered to win HERE!! THANK YOU!!!
What hair or makeup products have you finished that you would purchase again??

This was the year of the dry shampoo for me! I wasn’t tied to any particular brands, but it really saved me in a pinch and not having to wash my hair as often. At this point I think I would probably narrow it down by scent more than anything else! Sounds like you found some good products this year, I’ll have to check those out!

I love seeing beauty gurus’ empties. It’s great to see what they thought of products they used. I am a big fan of Bed Head by TIGI. It creates such a good hold but it’s not too stiff.

I’ve never tried the product Bed Head before, I think it’s really something that I should though. Sounds like you found really awesome products that are worth getting again!

This is such a fun idea! I have so many products around my house and rarely use all of them until they’re empty.

I don’t personally wear very much makeup. My daughter does and when I do get freebie makeup, I usually give it to her.
I bet I would like the bed head hairspray.

Now I have less beauty products , but they are better! I prefer the quality! I love L’oreal and Clinique!

I typically don’t wear much makeup or hair products, so getting empties are typically very far and few between. But I have used Bed Head before and really loved their products.
