I can’t believe it’s January 19 and this is officially my first Friday Five of the new year. What’s up with that?? Hmmm…regardless I am glad to be back at it with five completely random things to tell you! So let’s get to it…
ONE. I don’t know what ROCK I’ve been living under but HOW am I just now getting around to watching Grace and Frankie?? I freaking love this show and in writing about it I realized it’s been a HOT minute since I shared what I’m watching on the ‘Flix with y’all. I need to write a post about that because I LOVE getting Netflix recs from blogs!! So if you need a good, relatable laugh then check out Grace and Frankie!!
TWO. I have been a proud, card carrying member of MoviePass since last October and am almost ashamed to tell you that I hanse’t been to see a movie since Christmas Day!! What is wrong with me. Clearly I need to get off my couch and get to the theaters on my days off! HA! There are a lot of good movies out right now so I don’t see that being a problem!
THREE. I feel like a broken record but can I get y’all to do me a solid and pretty please sign up fo ray newsletter? I promise not to spam you, it’s only a once a week email that comes straight to your inbox and as an incentive for signing up I am giving away this HUGE bag of beauty goodies!! I am going to draw for the bag next Friday, January 26 so anyone who signs up between now and then will be entered to WIN!! I have also been toying around with the idea of doing a Facebook Live to draw and announce the winner??? SIGN UP HERE!!
FOUR. I got my hair done and I LOVE IT!!! You may or may not have read my backstory in my Currently post earlier this week but let me break it down for you…I have been going to the same hair lady for the past 6+ years. I LOVE the way she cuts my hair and she can do a single color like nobody’s business. But anytime I ask for anything other than a single color I wind up with orangey blonde hair. I tried again last August and showed her a picture of a girl with coppery-caramel balayage and she said she could do it. Y’all. I walked away with bright ass orange-blonde chunks all over my head. It was AWFUL. I went back to her two days later and for her to just dye it back all brown. I would have done it myself but she did it for free. And I would have gone sooner but I had to work the two nights in between and I didn’t have time to go back. So yes, I went out in public with AWFUL hair. Needless to say I never went back to her again.
That was last August and I haven’t touched my hair since then. I have been too scared! So I let it grow (because she always chopped it off waaaaay shorter than I asked) and finally found a new hair girl through a co-worker and she was able to work her magic on this mane of mine!! Here is my new look!!
I freaking LOVE my new caramel balayage!!! If you are in central Arkansas and are looking for a hair lady I can give you my girl’s number!!! She was so easy to talk to and didn’t pressure me to book another appointment when I was leaving! She’s the best!!!
FIVE. I am so excited because I scored some last minute tickets to see Finding Neverland in Memphis this week! My college bestie and roommate is going with me so this will be a super fun, super quick trip!! I can’t wait!!!!
Have you had a bad hair experience that made you quit going to your hair person??
What have you been watching on Netflix??
Have you seen Finding Neverland??
Amber Myers says
Your hair looks fabulous! Enjoy Finding Neverland! I know I loved the movie. I’ll have to watch Grace and Frankie. I’m finishing up Stranger Things at the moment.
Alli Smith says
I’m sorry – I can’t help but laugh at that first before and after photo of your hair! The same thing happened to my daughter when she visited a new, upscale salon. She paid way too much for those “orange” highlights. Your hair looks amazing in the bottom photos! Good for you for trying a new stylist! Love it!
Sarah Honey says
Your hair looks amazing. I really like the goldish tones instead of the reddish tones. The style looks beautiful on you!
candy says
Your hair is beautiful and don’t be afraid to go and have something done if that is what you need to do. Hair grows back all will be well.
Heather A Lawrence says
Oh boy, I have been there before with the color disaster!
I went once and my hair turned GREEN and then it went to GREY before they finally got it the shade that I wanted it too. And of course a few weeks later it faded and looked like crap. :(
I didn’t dye my hair for years after that!
Your hair looks beautiful!!
Doria says
I flipping LOVE Grace and Frankie! I started watching when it first launched and I get so antsy between seasons because it’s so hilarious! And man oh man, at least your hair looks fab now. I’m so nutty about my hair, I’d have cried :(
Joanna @ Everyday Made Fresh says
I love the new look! I’m glad that the new salon worked out for you. Hair salons can be scary!! I’ve had my fair share of moments, for sure. I totally signed up for your newsletter sometime over the course of this week. I need that bag full of awesomeness that you’re giving away! :-D My aunt literally just told me about Grace & Frankie a couple of weeks ago. I have yet to have a minute to watch it, but it’s on my list of what to watch next on Netflix.
Sue Reddel says
We LOVE Grace & Frankie too and can’t wait to binge watch it this weekend. Have you tried Cable Girls on Netflix? We’re working our way through that one too. It’s fun!
Chubskulit Rose says
Oh that is awful of what happen to you hair but glad you found one that works great for you. I seldom watch TV these days.
Jen Temcio says
Having a good hair person that you can trust to make you feel beautiful and who understands what you want is SOOOOOO important. You look fantastic and I am happy that you finally found your girl!
Sarah Bailey says
Oh my goodness your hair looks beautiful – no wonder you love it!
It has been forever since I went to the movies, I have to admit – what do you want to go and see?
Mimi Green says
I’m a Netflix junkie. I started watching Grace and Frankie. The storyline totally shocked me but it’s good.
Jenn @ EngineerMommy says
Wow your hair looks fabulous. It is so nice when you find a hair lady that doesn’t pressure you into booking future appointments. I love your caramel hair color, too.
Angie says
I love Grace and Frankie, it’s such a cute show! Also, that sucks when your hair isn’t the way you want… That’s why I am so glad I found a good stylist, I never go to anyone else anymore… I am too scared someone else will screw me up, even though my stylist is a little outside my budget most of the time…
Kita Bryant says
I am really loving the hair girl. It is a great look for you.
Sara Welch says
Grace and Frankie is such a great pick. I love those two.
Anosa says
Oh lawdy, I wouldn’t return to her either after that boom shell lol. But glad you found someone else who has done a better job an does look really lovely, not too short either
Dogvills says
I had a favorite hairdresser but he moved out of state. I had about two bad hair experiences until I found one who really knew her business. It is difficult to find one that really listens to what you want to be done to your hair. I am keeping this one forever. Hopefully, stays put right here in our area for the longest time!
