Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is in three weeks and Christmas is next month. I think it’s safe to say that the holiday season is in full swing. I feel like I have talked about this topic a lot on here lately but remember this post I wrote about losing weight? I haven’t written an update to that yet and I need to but all you need to know is that losing weight is still HARD, especially this time of year!! Can I get an AMEN??
For me losing weight is all about changing my lifestyle by eating better and eating smaller meals more frequently so I don’t ever have that OMG I’M STARVING feeling and eat everything in the house and getting more active. I feel like it’s easier to do those things in the spring and summer months when it’s warm outside and when you aren’t tempted by the buckets of leftover Halloween candy that your co-workers bring to work with them. You know what I mean?? I love you co-workers but please don’t tempt me!! HA!!
So this year I am vowing to try and stay healthy during the holiday season and my goals aren’t necessarily to lose weight but to not gain weight and keep active. So how I am going to pull that one off? Let me tell you my plan…
ONE. Stay Active. I am going to keep walking Sophie at the park as often as I can. It got cold in central Arkansas for a few days and while it was harder to get started it was so worth it when we were done. There is just something about getting outside and moving around that just makes me feel good! I need a contingency plan for when it gets super cold or is raining, like it has been doing here a lot lately, so I am working on that but my goal is to get outside and get moving at least 4x per week.
TWO. Drink more water. I gave up drinking pretty much anything other than water over a year ago but have been slipping up when I go to the movies. There is just something about watching a movie, eating that yummy buttery popcorn and drinking a fizzy drink! I need to quit that because I always feel gross afterwards and get back on the water train!! My goal is to drink half my body weight in ounces of water a day.
THREE. Get more sleep. I don’t know what it is but here lately I can’t sleep for more than 5 hours at a time. I know my body needs at least 7-8 hours, especially since I am working nights now, but that has been so hard lately! Maybe the time change will help??
FOUR. Limit sugar intake. I can’t even tell you how many times I have “treated” myself to candy and cookies and cake and snacks that are loaded with sugar. I blame it on “that time of the month” but I can’t use that excuse every day. I am good about not keeping any tempting food at home but when I’m out of the house it’s a completely different story…I am so bad!! And while I think you should eat sugar (and anything else) in moderation I know that I have been overdoing it lately and that needs to stop.
FIVE. Step up my vitamin game with Nature Made® Adult Gummies. As much as I try and eat healthy and “right” I know that I am not getting all the nutrients I need just by my food and lifestyle choices alone, so this is where vitamins help and if you had to choose would you take a pill or chew some gummies?? I choose gummies!! Not only do they taste really good but they are even better for you! I’m totally down with a vitamin that tastes good, HA!
So why Nature Made® Adult Gummies versus any other adult gummy vitamins that are on the market today? That’s easy…Nature Made® has the 1st Gummies to receive USP verification. The U.S. Pharmacopeia Convention (USP) is a third party nonprofit organization that verifies products for purity, potency, and quality. With verification from USP for purity and potency, Nature Made Adult Gummies is “a gummy you can trust” and the makes me feel better about my adult gummy vitamin choice!
I am starting with these three Nature Made® Adult Gummies…
…Hair Skin and Nails Adult Gummies, Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies and Vitamin D3 Adult Gummies.
I chose the Hair Skin and Nails Adult Gummies because they are loaded with biotin and Vitamin C! Nature Made® Hair Skin & Nails Adult Gummies provides 2500 mcg biotin and 100 mg vitamin C per serving which is important because they may help support healthy hair, skin and nails in those deficient in biotin† and Vitamin C provides antioxidant support and supports collagen synthesis†. YAY for more collagen, at 34 I need all of the collagen I can get!! These Nature Made® Hair Skin & Nails Adult Gummies are the only Beauty Gummies that are USP verified, so you know that what’s on the label, is what’s in the gummies. And they come in delicious Mixed Berry, Cranberry and Blueberry flavors.
Next up I chose the Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies because who doesn’t need more B12 in their life?? Nature Made® Energy†† B12 Adult Gummies contain 1000 mcg vitamin B12 per serving which is important because ††Vitamin B12 supports cellular energy production in the body.† They come in delicious Cherry and Mixed Berry flavors!
And finally I picked up Vitamin D3 Adult Gummies. Nature Made® Vitamin D Adult Gummies contain 2000 IU of vitamin D3 per serving which is important because D3 is the body’s preferred form of vitamin D.* Since I work night shift (I know, I know, I talk about working the night shift a lot) I don’t get outside a lot during daylight hours and so anything I can do to increase my Vitamin D is a good thing for me!! Vitamin D also helps support bone, teeth, muscle and immune health† as well as helps improve calcium absorption†. They come in Strawberry, Peach and Mango flavors!
I have had these vitamins for about a week now and have really enjoyed taking them so far! It’s rare that I forget to take them because they taste so dang good! I also helps that I keep them on my kitchen counter out in plain sight because it’s easy to forget something if it’s in a drawer or in a cabinet hidden away. So I make it easy on myself and just keep them out so I won’t miss seeing them. Anyone else forget to take their vitamins because they are hidden away in a drawer or cabinet??
So there you have it my friends, my five ways to stay healthy through the holiday season!! And if you have ever thought about trying adult gummy vitamins then I highly suggest checking out Nature Made® Adult Gummies!! Learn more about Nature Made and USP here!!
