My Favorite Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Protein Shake!

This post contains affiliate links.

When I wrote my Losing Weight is HARD post I got a lot of questions about what I’ve been eating and what workouts I’ve been doing. I plan on doing full posts about both of those but today I wanted to talk about what I’ve been eating drinking for breakfast every day. Let me preface this post by saying that I used to not eat anything for breakfast most days. I would do good to get my coffee to go on the way to work or swing by McDonald’s for a frappe if I really wanted something to fill me up.

When I started trying to lose weight and really started watching what I was eating I realized that I wasn’t eating nearly enough protein throughout the day and so I started looking for ways to add more protein to my diet. My doctor recommended that I eat around 120 grams of protein per day and I was doing good to get 70 or 80 grams in so I started looking at protein shakes.

I have tried my fair share of protein shakes in the past and about the only brand I like and will drink consistently is HerbaLife. They don’t taste chalky or too vitamin-y, they actually taste good and I look forward to drinking them every day. So I called up my HerbaLife lady and got signed up as a preferred customer and got all hooked up with my favorite protein powder!

HerbaLife is an MLM company but the products are out of this world delicious. Trust me on this one, I like to eat and I know what tastes good. The protein powder (Formula 1) comes in several flavors but my ride or die will always be Cookies and Cream. Each shake (2 scoops of F1) contains 21 vitamins, minerals and fiber. Each shake also only has 90 calories and 9 grams of protein. Since I was trying to up my protein I also add a scoop of PPP (personalized protein powder) which adds another 10 grams of protein.

My favorite shake to make with the Cookies and Cream Formula 1 is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake! You mix 2 scoops Cookies and Cream F1 with 1 scoop of PPP with 8oz of Chocolate Almond Milk and a half scoop PB2 and it tastes just like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!! YUM!!!!

That shake has 250 calories and 25 grams of protein. It tastes amazing and keeps me full for a while. If I wanted to up my protein even more I could add another scoop of PPP and make it 35 grams, which I do sometimes especially after I work out. I just throw all of the ingredients and some ice into my Ninja and let it go! It is so thick and creamy and smooth! I find that a lot of protein shakes are gritty or chalky and these aren’t. They are yummy!!

If you are working on weight loss specifically you can do two HerbaLife shakes a day and lots of snacks and a healthy meal per day. Or, of you are like me and work a crazy schedule and can’t always or don’t want to take another shake to work with you for later you just do one shake a day and eat lots of protein rich snacks and meals. I used to do 2 shakes a day before I worked in the hospital and that was fine but now I’m doing good to get one in so I always have one for my first meal of the day and that works for me!

HerbaLife has lots of products for a healthy lifestyle and I have used a lot of them in the past but the Formula 1 and PPP are my favorite and the ones I have seen the best results with. I am also currently using the Herbal Aloe to “cleanse” my system. It really works in helping to keep you regular and cleaning out all of the bad bacteria from your gut. I’m getting ready to start taking probiotics again and thought this would be a good jumpstart to that. I have the cranberry flavor and mix it in a lime sparkling water just to mix things up.

That’s all I have to say about my favorite protein shake EVA!! But if you have any questions about HerbaLife you can comment or shoot me an email and I will be glad to help you. I don’t sell it but I have a great HerbaLife lady!!

Do you have a favorite protein shake??
Have you ever tried any HerbaLife products??

Wow! 120 grams seems like a lot. I remember way back when I was pregnant for the first time I was told to eat 100 grams a day and that seemed like an impossibility. Too bad I didn’t have Reeces Peanut Butter Cup Protein Shakes to help me out back then!

Never tried Herbal Life, but I do drink protein shakes. Even that instant breakfast stuff is good sometimes and keeps me from eating all day long.

I need to get more protein in too. And I’ve struggled to find powder that tastes good and is easy to take on the go. I might have to try and find some HerbaLife I can sample.

I think you can purchase individual/single size packets of all of the different protein powder flavors online. I can usually find them on eBay…LOL!! That way you can try before you buy!!
