I love summer but man oh man is it hot outside. And not only is it hot but it seems like every day I’ve had off work it’s rained or been about to rain so it’s been so humid outside that I can’t even breathe. Truth be told it’s been pretty miserable. So unfortunately I haven’t gotten to do as many outdoor activities as I would normally like this time of year. Instead I have been cleaning out my house (getting it ready to sell) and watching/listening to a lot of movies that inspire me lately.
I love to watch all sorts of movies but lately I have had a couple on repeat and I have found that they all have one thing in common…they are all inspiring (at least to me anyway)! These movies I am about to talk about have all inspired me in some way to want to get up and do something. They are also fun and, for the most part, lighthearted. This isn’t a serious, this movie makes me want to run for President, kind of movie roundup. It’s more of just a fun way to talk about movies that I love and just happen to find inspiring.
So here we go…
ONE. Legally Blonde. Yes, it’s a silly girly movie but watching Elle Woods get her heart trampled on, then picking herself up, getting into and attending Harvard, and then later going on to win the case almost makes me want to go to law school myself. I always feel so good after watching this movie!
“If you’re going to let one stupid prick ruin your life, you’re not the girl I thought you were.” –Professor Stromwell
TWO. Legally Blonde 2. Just like the original Legally Blonde, Legally Blonde 2 makes me want to get so inspired by something that I will do anything, like go to Washington DC and get a law passed, for that cause. I love both of these movies equally and even though they are “silly” and “girly movies” I find them inspiring!! Plus now I want to back to Cambridge and Washington DC!!!
“I’m here to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves.” –Elle Woods
THREE. View from the Top. I still remember the first time I ever saw this movie. I wasn’t electing much from it but seeing ole Gwynny raised by a stripper Mom, dumped by her boyfriend (do I sense a theme here??), followed her dream from short Vegas flights to International and then found true love truly inspired me!!! This movie is about not letting anything stand in the way of your dreams and following your heart. This movie always leaves me with all the feels.
“No matter where you’re from, no matter who people think you are, you can be whatever you want. But you’ve gotta start right now.” -Sally Weston
FOUR. We Bought a Zoo. I remember going solo to the movies to see this one and then meeting a friend for lunch afterward and being soooo excited about life. My takeaway was that all you needed was 20 seconds of courage and you can change your whole life. I was ready to go change the world after watching this movie. This movie made me laugh, it made me cry and most of all it gave me encouragement. I truly believe I can do big things every time I watch this movie.
“You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.” -Benjamin Mee
FIVE. Pitch Perfect. One of my all time favorite movies just had to make this list. Of course it’s inspirational!! A loner, Becca, joins an acapella group because her Dad wants her to be more involved on campus and then she basically rocks it but not until the end of the movie when everything comes together. I legit cry real tears during the Bella Finale song every time I watch this movie. I love how this group of girls overcame every obstacle against them and went on do to amazing things together. Plus it has really catchy music.
“You guys are the best. Even though some of you are pretty thin, I think that you all have fat hearts. And that’s what matters. Okay let’s just smash this.” –Fat Amy
And those, ladies and gentlemen, are the movies that most inspire me and the movies I have been watching on repeat as I clean out my house. HA!!!
What movies inspire you??

Now here are some movies I have actually watched and enjoyed. Right now the hubby is gone and all the Twilight movies have been playing. Decided it was time to watch them once again.

Legally Blonde is the only moving I’ve seen out of all of these, and we actually own We Bought a Zoo. I didn’t think Legally Blonde was too bad, but my husband had a different opinion. Lol!
