Ice Cream Sandwich Hack ft. McDonald’s Ice Cream

This post contains affiliate links.

I am a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s. While I am being compensated for this post all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have a question for you. What did we honestly do with all of our time before Facebook videos and the save feature?? I have sooooo many videos saved, most of them recipes of some sort. I used to not like people posting recipes on Facebook because that was what Pinterest is for (in my opinion anyway) but these recipe videos have sucked me in big time. Please tell me I’m not the only one!!!

So while perusing Facebook the other day, I kept seeing this “ice cream hack” that looked like a homemade ice cream sandwich and people were just raving about how amazing it was. So of course, being the good Facebooker I am I clicked the link and found myself watching a video on how to make an ice cream sandwich out of a couple of McDonald’s cookies and a McFlurry.

Wait a minute!! What??

Yes, you read that right, McDonald’s cookies + McFlurry = ice cream sandwich. Now if that doesn’t sound good I don’t what does.

After watching said video my curiosity was piqued so of course I had to make one for myself. Luckily I live pretty close to a McDonald’s so my mission was easy. Go to McDonald’s, acquire said cookies and McFlurry (a Rolo McFlurry of course because they are my everything right now) and make an ice cream sandwich. Sounds easy enough! Riiiiiiight…..why does something always go wrong when I experiment with food? HA!

Unfortunately for it just so happens that it was 100* the day I decided to master this feat. So like the good Facebook recipe video watcher I am I decided to just dump my McFlurry in a pan and refreeze it in hopes that I could scoop it out better.

Side note- I grabbed three cookies because they were 3/$1 versus paying $1.60 for 2. #WIN

Did it work? Let’s see….

And that my friends is how you make an ice cream sandwich out of 2 McDonald’s Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Rolo McFlurry. Trust me when I say it’s delicious!! Oh, and I only stuck the McFlurry in my freezer for about 45 minutes and it scooped out perfectly!!

Celebrate National Ice Cream Month at your local McDonald’s by trying this ice cream sandwich hack or by picking any of the other ice cream offerings McDonald’s has! I highly recommend the Rolo McFlurry!! YUM!!!

McDonald’s also has tons of ice cream offers in July. All you have to do is download the McDonald’s app and you can start receiving these offers instantly. During the week of July 17th you can receive a free snack size McFlurry with any purchase. During the week of July 24th they are having buy one, get one any flavor McFlurry. What more could you ask for? The deals are always amazing on the McDonald’s app!

Have you tried this ice cream sandwich hack??
What’s your favorite McDonald’s Ice Cream treat??

This looks awesome! There is nothing like an ice cream sandwich on a hot day. McDonald’s has awesome cookies, second only to Subway.

My favorite is a McDonald’s Oreo McFlurry with caramel added to it. This ice cream sandwich hack is a great idea. I will have to give it a try this weekend for dessert.
