Preparing for Vein Surgery with PediSand

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a sponsored post written by me on for PediSand. While I was compensated for this post, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Remember a few weeks ago when I had Varicose Vein Surgery? Well I am in the process of dealing with my insurance in order to have my other leg done and it is so frustrating! I don’t know about you but I hate dealing with insurance stuff. It’s confusing, makes no sense, and takes forever. Hopefully I will get my other leg done in the next couple of months and then I will be done for good! Until then I will just tell you about preparing for vein surgery with my favorite new toy, my PediSand!

veinsurgerypedisand

Preparing for any surgery is important and my doctor gave me a list of things to do. Meds not to take, shower instructions for the night before, and then rules I gave myself. For my first surgery I made sure my legs were shaved smooth and my toes were painted. Getting a pedicure was super important to me, I did not want to have callused feet or chipped toes on the operating table. I made the mistake of going to a new place and the guy who did my pedicure cut the bottom of my foot. It bled forever and hurt to walk on it. I had my doctor look at it before my surgery so I knew it was ok and not infected but the whole experience scared me. I haven’t been back to get a pedicure since.

When I started thinking about preparing for my second vein surgery I was pretty bummed because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get a pedicure but then the amazing women behind the PediSand sent me this beauty!

pedisand

The PediSand is a hands-free foot file that can be used on wet or dry feet, I used mine when I got out of the shower, and works like a dream!! You just put one foot inside the PediSand to hold it down and then rub your other foot on it to get rid of the calluses! With the PediSand’s extra large surface area it is perfect for getting the bottoms and side of your feet without having to maneuver into awkward angles. WIN!!

So the other night when I got out of the shower I used my PediSand and then slathered my feet in this amazing Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Cream and my feet have been super smooth ever since! And before you ask, yes, I used hand cream on my feet. It smells good and it’s really thick ok? HA! #UseWhatWorks

I have been telling my friends all about this bad boy and the question I get asked most is what to do when the texturized sheet is all worn out? Well the super smart PediSand people literally though tot everything because it’s a replaceable sheet! That’s right, when the surface gets worn down you just peel it off and stick another one on! Genius!

So back to preparing for vein surgery…I have a few items that I consider “must haves” and today I wanted to share them with you. I know I thought I had it covered before my first surgery but there was definitely one item I and to go buy more of…LOL! So here we go…

gettingreadyPediSand / Bite Agave Lip Mask / Apple TV / Starbucks Via instant PSL / Aveda Hand Cream /
The Visibles by Sara Shepard / Lane Bryant Yoga Pants

ONE. PediSand. Because of all the reasons listed above.

TWO. Bite Agave Lip Mask. Mostly because my lips have been super dry lately and I always try to keep something on them. This is usually a lip mask that I only use at night but lately I have been using it during the day as well. Pro tip- when you brush your teeth before bed brush your lips as well to get the dead and chapped skin off and then slather your lips in this Bite Agave Lip Mask. Pure bliss.

THREE. Apple TV. Or Roku. Or Amazon Prime. Whatever device you use to stream shows and movies on. I watched a lot of TV when I was stuck on the couch or in bed with this bum leg of mine and I fully plan on doing that again. HA!

FOUR. Starbucks Via instant PSL. This drink is my all tie favorite fall drink anyway but when I had surgery this Instant VIA mix was perfect because I didn’t even have to leave my house to get that SBX perfection in my hands!

FIVE. Aveda Hand Cream. Good for both the feet and the hands! Apparently this time of year is super bad for my skin because I have just been so super dry lately and this hand cream has kept my whole body feeling smooth!!

SIX. The Visibles by Sara Shepard. Or whatever book you want to read! Eventually you will get bored watching all that TV and you will need a break and what a better break to take than to read a book? Sara Shepard wrote the Pretty Little Liar series as well as The Lying Game (anyone remember that series??) but my favorite book of hers so far is The Heiresses. after reading that I bought The Visibles and so far it’s a really great read!

SEVEN. Lane Bryant Yoga Pants. This is the item i ran out of and had to get more of. HA!! I didn’t realize how many paris I would go through and that they would be the item I lived in until after I had surgery. I had two long pair and to capri length and thought that would be plenty…wrong! I wore a pair home from the hospital and they got blood all over them so I had to change when I got home and then those got stiff on them too so I resorted to my capri length. Those were completely fine but when I needed th house I needed the long ones again and so anyway….to make a long story short I bought two more pairs of long yoga pants and that was the perfect amount. Now I am all stocked up on yoga pants for the winter and my next surgery. HA!

pediprods

So those are the items on my “must have” list for vein surgery. I will definitely be set for my next surgery and my feet will always be smooth and pretty thanks to PediSand!

Have you heard of PediSand??
Have you tried one yet??

I haven’t had vein surgery, but with any kind of hospital stay you want to prep for your stay to ensure it will be the best possible. Sounds like you found some goodies that will help make the stay better!

All the very best for your vein surgery; I’ve heard little about male varicose surgery where they treat scrotum as well. I don’t know much about it but I am pretty sure that it is a big surgical procedure. So good luck again. Talking about the Pedisand, I recently purchased something like this for my mom :)

Pedisand sounds like a great product!! I would love to have it for last minute trips to the beach or fancy nights out that pop up and don’t leave you time to head to the spa!

Hoping all will be well with the surgery. It amuses me though that despite the stress of knowing you’d be laying down on an operating table, you still find it necessary to look your best. Anyway, thanks for letting me know about Pedisand. This time of year, our skin gets so dry and we need to pay attention to those dry, cracked heels.

The Pedisand product sounds awesome! Even nice for those who like to give themselves at home pedicures. :) I also use hand cream on my feet because it is thicker and it makes my feet smoother!

I’m a huge fan of the Aveda hand cream. It is amazing and works so well. I haven’t tried the Pedisand, but it sounds like a nice way to give your feet that at home spa treatment.

I have dry feet at the moment. I need the pedisand.

I got toenail fungus from one of the spa’s so I am hesatint to go get pedicures now. Plus, the spa that I did go to was so rude the last time I went. There was a lady getting ready for her wedding day and she kept complaining about her nails not being right. And the ladies and manager said it was fine. She tried to get them to discount the services and they refused. Poor lady was in tears. She told him that she was going to walk out and not pay. He said if you do that I will call the cops. So she paid with her credit card and refused to sign it. She was going to dispute it with the CC company. I told him that he should have done the right thing and gave her a discount. I told him that I would never come back there for any services. I also left a horrible review on their Facebook page and today it is still there.
