Top 20 Halloween Movies for 90’s Kids

This post contains affiliate links.

How did Halloween creep up on me so fast?? I feel like just yesterday it was the end of August and I was putting up all my fall decor..I know, I know, it was way super early but I am a fall freak!! HA! What can I say? I love fall!!

I have to work on Halloween which is kind of a blessing in disguise because my neighborhood is nuts that night. But I am sad that I’m not going to be able to watch Halloween movies all day so instead I will have to watch them all weekend!! I was lucky enough to grow up in the 90’s which was the best decade for movies in my opinion. I have so many favorite movies and so today I wanted to share my favorite Halloween movies with you! And now you know what I will be watching all weekend…LOL! Here we go!

halloweenmovies

ONE. Hocus Pocus. Of course this movie is number one, the Sanderson sisters were scary and Max was hot. Enough said. I can’t wait for the sequel!

TWO. Casper. I had the biggest crush ever on Devon Sawa growing up so this was my number one Halloween movie several years running but has recently dropped back into second place behind Hocus Pocus.

THREE. Halloweentown. I have always been the biggest Disney fan and was addicted to Disney channel movies growing up and to this day this is still one of my faves!!

FOUR. Beetlejuice. Winona Ryder at her finest. I think this was where I got my love for anything black and white striped!!

FIVE. The Goonies. Not technically a “Halloween” movie but still a good 80’s/90’s classic that would be a great watch for Halloween weekend. Lots of mystery and of course Sloth!!

SIX – FOURTEEN. The entire Harry Potter series. Not technically a 90’s movie series but every 90s kid I know is obsessed with HP. I know I sure am and the whole series is definitely a Halloween must-watch! Pumpkin Juice anyone?

hpotter

FIFTEEN. Double Double Toil and Trouble. I am a total Mary Kate and Ashley fan and this movie was one of my favorites growing up. I may be older than them but thank goodness for little sisters!! HA!!

SIXTEEN. The Worst Witch. I love movies about boarding schools and this was one of my favorites growing up. Maybe I secretly always wanted to go away to school? I was too much of a mama’s girl to go away though!!

worstwitch

SEVENTEEN. Scream. The ultimate 90’s scary movie. Completely predictable and not really scary at all. Is it weird that I still love when Drew Barrymore dies at the beginning? I am such a weirdo!!

scream

EIGHTEEN. The Craft. The perfect cult classic that completely creeped me out!! I still love this movie and watch it a few times a year!

NINETEEN. The Addams Family. Christina Ricci at her finest. I love The Adams Family!

TWENTY. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. And you can’t make a list about Halloween movies and not include Peanuts. I love this movie!!!

What a walk down memory lane…I can’t wait to watch these movies!!!

Well I just walked down memory lane…great movies! Makes me want to whip out some of those and watch them again (esp. Beetlejuice… I’ve got a thing for Michael K.!) I’d date that man in a heartbeat! ( and no, I don’t care about age- he’s the exception!) mmm-mmm! lol… Okay, sorry, let me contain myself! Great choices! (thumbs up!)

Beetlejuice and Scream are my favorite scary movies. I haven’t seen Beetlejuice in a long time. I will have to find it so that my youngest can see it.

Hocus Pocus and Asher are two of my favorites. I bet my kids would also like the Goonies! It is fun to watch these movies during October as a family. It brings back many memories for me with my own family.
