I am a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s. While I am being compensated for this post all thoughts and opinions are my own.
How is it already October? I feel like this year has literally flown by. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was making resolutions I knew I wouldn’t keep and then celebrating the big 3-3. And then came graduation and then was summer time and I traveled a lot and now here we are. Fall. How did that even happen??
One of resolutions this year, and pretty much every year, was to eat better. I always say that and I start out really good and then it always falls apart! HA! But one thing I have done differently this year that has really helped me was to actually eat breakfast. Some days I would feel like I was in such a rush, side effect of having to wake up at 4:30am and leave home by 5:45am, that I would completely skip breakfast or just count my morning coffee as breakfast. Not good. So for the past year-ish I have been actually setting aside time to eat breakfast and I have felt so much better!!
When I am off work this is pretty easy to do…I love boiled eggs or oatmeal or even last night’s leftovers when I am not in a “breakfast food” mood. However, I was struggling on the mornings I had to go to work. I am the first to admit that I don’t wake up in time to make something and sit down to eat so whatever I find has to be quick and easily eaten in the car…if I’m being completely honest with you. HA!
I think it’s pretty common knowledge around here that I am a huge McDonald’s Frappe fan. While they aren’t a breakfast food they are a pretty yummy treat that I still love to indulge in at least once a week. Lately I have been grabbing a Fruit and Maple oatmeal to go with it! I drink my Frappe in the car on the way to work and then by the time I get to work the oatmeal is perfectly cooled and delicious!! I also love that the fruit come in their own package and you can add as little or as much as you like. They also don’t get soggy that way!
If I am not feeling a Frappe that day my second favorite on the go breakfast is the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit and a hash brown. Chicken for breakfast? YES! And if you add strawberry jelly to it? Even better!!
If I want a healthier option my go to is the Fruit and Yogurt Parfait or the Egg White Delight McMuffin depending if I’m craving salty or sweet that particular morning. I love that McDonald’s has you covered either way!
Another one of my other favorite on the go breakfast options is the Sausage Burrito! My niece Paycen loves McDonald’s Sausage Burritos so I can attest to the fact that it’s actually not too messy if a three year old can eat it on the go!!
I also love love love the line of McGriddles! I think my absolute fave is the Sausage McGriddle but I also love the Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle. As long as it’s a McGriddle it’s good enough for me! The McGriddle was recently added to the #AllDayBreakfast menu and you have no idea how excited I was about that!! HA!!
So that is a pretty good roundup of my favorite on the go breakfasts from McDonald’s. I love that McDonald’s offers delicious, budget-friendly options for breakfast that I can eat in my car on the way to work!! Not only am I less hangry throughout the day but I feel full and am not going to break down and eat “bad for me” snacks (cookies, candy, chips…etc) before lunch time!!
