Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta {recipe}

This post contains affiliate links.

I feel like a lot of my blog posts lately have been food related but that’s the beauty of blogging, you can write about whatever you like and right now I like food!! HA!!

I found this yummy recipe for Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta on Facebook the other day…P.S. what is up with all the recipes on Facebook lately? I’m not complaining but I thought that was what Pinterest was for??? Back to the recipe I found…I didn’t have some of the ingredients so I made a few substitutions and I ended up really loving it!! Isn’t it funny how these things always work out??

bangbangshrimppasta

For this recipe I just sautéed my shrimp in a little Rice Bran Oil, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and then I mixed them with my pasta and sauce. For the pasta I actually used a brown rice penne pasta that I picked up at Trader Joe’s when I was in Dallas. I have professed my love of brown rice many times here on this blog and I love brown rice pasta just as much! What can I say, I love brown rice!

The key ingredient in this whole dish is, of course, the Bang Bang Sauce. For this sauce I mixed some mayo, heavy whipping cream, onion powder, crushed red pepper, sweet chili sauce, lime juice, and minced garlic.

You literally just mix the ingredients up, let it chill in the fridge for a little while, and it’s ready to go! It doesn’t get any easier, or tastier than that!!

I love this sauce so much that I made it again and put it over some rice and grilled chicken. It was delicious!! I skipped my usual brown rice and tried this Riceland Gold Parboiled Long Grain Rice. I don’t know what it iso about this rice but it is simply perfection. It doesn’t stick together and tastes really good!! This may be my new go-to white rice.

Now that I have also professed my love for Bang Bang Sauce you can expect a few more recipes with it in the future! I can’t wait to get to cooking! HA!!

Are you a Bang Bang Sauce fan??
Have you ever made it yourself??

    This sauce reminds me a bit of this shrimp dish I used to eat in NYC. Even though I’m not a huge mayo fan I always loved the way it paired with shrimp.
