Heights Taco and Tamale

This post contains affiliate links.

This past Sunday, my first Sunday off work in about a million years, Rebekah came to Little Rock and we went out to eat! We decided to go to Heights Taco and Tamale which neither of us had ever tried before. Heights Taco is located on historic Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock. Kavanaugh is home to some of the trendiest restaurants and the neatest houses. Some days I just love walking around and taking in the sights. That area of Little Rock is truly beautiful.

Heights Taco and Tamale opened in April 2015 and serves up an amazing Mexican/Southern fusion menu. To start we got the salsa trio and the cheese dip. For our salsa trio we chose the House Red, Devil, and Jalapeño Onion Cream Dip. My favorite of the three was the Jalapeño Onion Cream, it had a nice bite to it and was the perfect companion to my Delta Mule!

salsas

The Delta Mule is a refreshing take on the traditional Moscow Mule and the perfect drink for summer! The Delta Mule has Cathead Vodka, Honeysuckle Vodka, Ginger Beer, and is topped with a lime. It was very crisp and refreshing and will taste even better on the outdoor patio this summer!

For my entree I got the Grilled Cheese’Dilla with Green Chile Tomato Rice and Refried Smokey Bacon Pinto Beans. YUM!! And their house made buttermilk ranch is to die for!!

Overall the food was fantastic and I will definitely be back to try more! I am also in love with the decor and ambiance of the entire restaurant. It a very homey, relaxed vibe and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We also went at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon so that may have had something to do with it because I can definitely see this place begin packed during peak hours!

If you are in Little Rock and looking for a fun, yummy place to eat then I highly suggest trying Heights Taco and Tamale. It’s delicious!

I love Heights Taco and Tamale! I usually get the tamales, but I think I will try something new next time. And, yes, it is usually packed in the evening/after work hours during the week. – Amy @ http://thegiftedgabber.com
