I love makeup…maybe not as much as I love hair products but I do love it. For my everyday makeup routine I shoot for a natural look.
I work at a hospital and so whatever I use needs to last for 12+ hours on those days. I also don’t like to actually feel anything on my face so anything I use needs to be light and not heavy at all. I fell in love with bareMinerals when I was in respiratory school (almost ten years ago…yikes!) and have never looked back. I love the feel of it and it covers well! I love that you can use different brushes to make it as full or as light coverage as you want and it literally stays on all day.
First I will show you my naked selfie face to see what we are working with and then show you my finished face at the end of this post.
I use Medium Beige in the original bareMinerals formula as my all over color. I start with a beauty blender and put it around my nose and user my eyes first. Those are the areas I need coverage on the most! Then I use the Full Flawless Face Brush from bareMinerals to put all over my face and neck.
Next I use my MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush to apply two shades from the Anastasia Contour Kit. I have the Light to Medium set in the powders (not the cream set). I think this is a great set for someone who has never contoured before, like myself, HA! The two colors I use are on the bottom, I sweep the middle one all the way across the top of my forehead right at my hairline and at my jawline. Then I mix that one with the one on the left (looking straight at it) and put it right under my cheekbones.
Then I use the same brush to apply bareMineral All-Over Face Color in Glee to the apples of my cheeks, lightly across my forehead, lightly down my nose, and a dab on my chin…basically anywhere the sun would touch my face. Glee looks like a really bright pink in real life but it goes lighter and just gives me a rosy glow.
I finish everything off with bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil. I use the bareMinerals Full Flawless Face Brush and just basically blend everything in really good with it. During the summer months when I tend to sweat glisten I will use the Mineral Veil before I use my foundation and this keeps my face looking fresh!
Finally I use my Becca Shimmering Skin Protector in Opal with the MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush down my nose, in the corners of my eyes, and on top of my cheekbones. I use this very sparingly because it packs a lot of punch and can wind up looking too glittery if you get heavy handed.
On to brows…I have been using Benefit’s brow products since last summer when I was introduced to them and got my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar. I use the Benefit Instant Brow in dark very lightly to fill in my brows and then brush them really good with the wand end of the stick. Then I highlight right under my brows with Benefit’s High Brow Highlighting Pencil in Glow. Sometimes I feel like the highlighter goes on a little strong so I blend it in with the E.L.F. Studio Concealer Brush. I really love that brush and the fact that it’s only $3!! I am also linking the eye pencil sharpener I use because it fits all of my pencils, big and small!!
For my eyes I have been using Clinique’s Cream Shaper Eyeliner in Egyptian for over ten years. When I really love something I keep using it! HA! But really though, this liner actually stays in place and is really day to apply. I do the green one but it actually just looks like a soft black on me. LOVE IT!!
I love to switch up my mascaras but recently I have been applying one coat of Loreal’s Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black to both my top and bottom lashes and then two coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex on my top lashes only. I love the length and volume I get with this combo and have literally been using the Loreal since high school. It’s good stuff!
Finally for my lips I have been using this rosebud salve since right before Christmas and I am obsessed. It gives just a hint of color and moisturizes like no other! I have it in the tin and in a stick to carry with me at work. Since I work at a hospital I don’t like putting my finger in the tin and potentially infecting myself with something..hospitals are GROSS! LOL!
So that’s it! I realize that sounds like a lot of stuff but it really gives me a naturally glowy look and doesn’t feel heavy at all, plus it only takes about five minutes to do my whole face and literally lasts all day!!

Your makeup looks great! I’m not a big fan of makeup, mainly because I’m too lazy to take it off at night. But I love my eyeliner. That is my every day makeup.

I have a super long commute and have to be at work at 7:30 to top that, so my morning routine is a simple soap/water rinse and a BB cream. I usually throw on lipstick before I get out of the car at work.

Your beautiful Ricci. I personally don’t wear a ton of makeup up. I do occasionally though and I agree with you that the products that I choose to wear must last all day.

I have PCOS so my facial routine is pretty thorough but I love the Bare Minerals power. I need to get my game right on these brushes ,though. I’m not knowledgeable in that area at all. – Yolonda
