Superior Bathhouse Brewery

This post contains affiliate links.

A few weeks ago I was doing some research for an article I was writing in Hot Springs and had lunch with a friend at Superior Bathhouse Brewery.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Hot Springs Arkansas is home to historic Bathhouse Row which is in Hot Springs National Park, one of the nation’s very first national parks. Bathhouse Row is exactly what you would think it was by the name, a row of eight bath houses that have been around since the early 1900’s. The bath houses were frequented by presidents, mobsters, athletes, and anyone wanting to bathe in the healing waters.

Fast forward to 2016 and only two of the bath houses are actually still open for baths and the others have been turned into museums, shops, art galleries, etc. The Superior Bathhouse is the smallest bath house on Bathhouse Row and was recently renovated into a microbrewery…yum!

bar

The brewery has a few tables but it has amazing seating at a bar that had been constructed around the perimeter of the room at the windows that face the streets. I don’t know about you but I love to people watch and this was my favorite seating by far! HA!

The day that I went for lunch was soooo hot and humid outside that I couldn’t wait to grab a cold drink once we got seated. On the recommendation of my waiter I chose this Pacific Coast Cider. I am a huge fan of ciders and this one is a hard apple cider mixed with pinot grigio. It was the perfect mix of sweet and tart. #PERFECT

beer

Superior Bathhouse Brewery has a fun menu of food that has all been locally sourced and has a distinct southern flare. To start we got the Southern Black-eyed Pea Hummus. If you love hummus as much as I do then you should definitely try this! It comes with both pretzel chips and warm pita. DELISH!

For our entrees I chose the Petit Jean Bologna and Cheddar Panini with Blue Cheese and Bacon Potato Salad…

…and my friend got the Sriracha Chicken Salad Wrap with the same Blue Cheese and Bacon Potato Salad.

Both of these sandwiches were AMAZE and I love that they used Petit Jean meat. It’s my absolute fave and #ArkansasGrown of course!

For desert we split a brownie with gelato and carmel sauce. I can’t remember the exact name (oops) but trust me when I say that it was the perfect ending to a great lunch!

If you are ever in the Hot Springs area then I highly suggest grabbing a beer or a meal at the Superior Bathhouse Brewery. It has great history and is just a fun place to be. Next time I am in the area I want to try a bath at one of the working bathhouses!!

Have you ever been to Hot Springs??

I’ve never been to Hot Springs, but I have heard really nice things. Bath houses have always intrigued me. I studied Latin for 4 years and bath houses were a big deal in ancient times.

People watching at breweries is one of my favorite things to do! The food looks amazing too! Breweries by me can’t sell food so they all coordinate with food trucks and rotate

I haven’t ever been to hot spring. The food looks amazing. I don’t drink beer so this wouldnt be my ideal stop but my husband likes beer occasionally. He would probably love this brewery.
