DryBar and Kiehl’s for the WIN!

This post contains affiliate links.

I recently found two brand new (to me) hair products that I wanted to share with you today! I have been having crazy dry scalp and flat hair issues lately and finally found something that worked for me!! Can I get a hell yeah from the back row? I am super excited to share these products with you because if they helped me then maybe they can help you too!!

dbk

I don’t know what has been up with my hair lately but my scalp (and skin in general) has been super dry. I’m talking I have had some crazy dandruff since about January and I can not get it under control. Gross but true.

So I was surfing Facebook last week and found a post from Simply Stine about how Kiehl’s Magic Elixir saved her dry scalp and decided to grab some the next time I was out and about. Luckily for me when I was in Dallas a few weeks ago Kiehl’s was having their big friends and family event and so most things in the store were 20% off!! So I grabbed this beauty for $16!!

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical because applying an oil to my scalp and letting it sit is not normally something I would do, I have always seen my hair as oily but right now it was the exact opposite so I went for it! I rubbed the oil all over my scalp, threw it up in a big clip and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Can I just say that the smell of this oil was a little weird to me at first but then I wound up absolutely loving it so there’s that. Just takes some getting used to I guess.

After I let it sit I took a shower and washed and conditioned my hair like normal and then let it air dry about half way and then blew it dry with my hair dryer. When I was finished my hair felt completely and totally fabulous!! I kept checking my scalp for dandruff and couldn’t find any!! My hair felt super light and was super shiny this morning when I straightened it. I can honestly say that the Kiehl’s Magic Elixir is indeed magic and will definitely be a part of my hair routine from now on!! Thank you Christine!!!

Now on to my volume issues…I have not always been a fan of huge hair. Maybe because in middle school and high school I had completely uncontrollable frizz and would rather have flat hair than hair that was all over the place. I am happy to say that I have changed my ways since then and love a little tamed volume now!!

Since I have been having my scalp issues I haven’t really had much volume either…boo!! When I was at DryBar in Dallas a few weeks ago my stylist used this DryBar Southern Belle Volumizing Mousse on my hair and it gave me really light, weightless volume AND I could brush through my hair later that day!! That’s huge for me because usually “volumizing” products leave my hair sticky and gross and are a nightmare to brush through.

I was so impressed with this product that I bought it on the spot and have used it a few times at home with success!! So if you just need an extra boost and a product that smells like angels from heaven then I highly suggest this one!!

So that’s my wrap for today, two fabulous hair products that I am newly obsessed with!!

What are your favorite hair products??
Do you suffer from a dry scalp like I did??

I need to give this a try. My hair has been really “meh” lately, and I’ve heard avocado oil is really great for your hair.

Kiehl’s sounds great. I’ve been looking for a new treatment for my hair. The one I have just hasn’t been getting it done.

I have to agree my skin has been very dry lately and my hair is been just blah. I’ll try some of the stuff and see if it will do anything for me.

I would need that Kiehl’s Magic Elixir for my dry scalp. I guess it comes with the season. My scalp gets alternately oily then dry. I can’t imagine having to deal with dandruff, so I will address the dryness before it gets worse. Thanks for letting me know about this product.

I have very oily hair, but frizzy – how does that even happen??? I can feel your pain on the volume issues. I’ve not found anything I’m in love with yet, but I keep looking. Maybe this is it???

I would love to try these two products especially Kiehl’s Magic Elixir. I could use something like this to fix my dry scalp problems too. Plus I’ve heard good things about avocado oil for the hair.

I first learned of Kiehls at my first job ‘post-College’ as most of my co-workers swore by them, it’s great that you had the chance to get it on sale and that it worked out so well for you! Actually even ‘oily’ hair types need to deep condition and use some oils on occasion to keep their hair and scalp moisturized, and as you now know to help stave off dandruff!
