Love Your Hair Naturally with Aveda

This post contains affiliate links.

I have to admit that I have used a lot of hair products in my day. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and it was like a lion’s mane when I was younger! Bless my poor mama’s heart, she was always having me try different prodcuts from gels to mousse to creams to try to get it to act right (keep in mind this was before flat irons came out and yes, I am showing my age right now…LOL).

Bless it…

bballricci

…but can I just say that that gold glitter nail polish is on point!

I can’t even tell you how many products were in my hair in that pic and obviously they weren’t doing me any favors. Since those days I have invested in a nice straightener/flat iron (God bless whoever invented the Chi) and invested in quality hair products. I have learned that less really is more and that natural products work best for me.

I have been going to an Aveda exclusive salon since I moved to central Arkansas eight-ish years ago and I can tell a huge difference in my hair! This was my hair yesterday after using Aveda’s Smooth Infusion…

smoothhair

I have used Smooth Infusion off and on for a few years now and can tell huge difference when I don’t use it.  It is made with organic cassava root that helps form a barrier against intense humidity to help with any frizz! And the bonus is that is smells amaze and the more you use it, your hair actually stays smoother longer!!

Now that I have confessed my love for Aveda (and especially Smooth Infusion) you have no idea how I pumped I was when I was contacted by their marketing team to see if I wanted a box of goodies to play with!! Of course I said YES!!!

avedabox

And then when I opened it I may have done a little happy dance to see a huge bottle of my beloved Smooth Infusion along with these other goodies…

avedaproducts

…I have always wanted to try the Thickening Tonic and I am always down for a good dry shampoo and firm and flexible hold hairsprays!! The Defining Whip also interests me but I think it is more for people with shorter hair? Either way you better bet I will give it a try!

One thing I love about Aveda products is that they are all made from naturally derived ingredients whenever possible. At least 50% of each product is made from plant based materials and the bottles are made from 100% post consumer recycled PET. Talk about being a responsible consumer, thank you Aveda!

I can’t wait to try my other goodies and give you a full report when I do!!

Do you use Aveda products??
Have you tried their new Shampure dry shampoo??

I get keratin treatments so I can only use certain things on my hair these days., Before keratin, I practically lived at Aveda!

I have been trying different hair products and I have found some good brands but none that I just love. I need to try out Aveda and see how much of a difference it makes on my hair.

My daughter uses dry shampoos but I will have to steer her over to this product.
I shudder to think of exactly what she is spraying on her hair out of that metal can.
I trust the name Aveda and would prefer her to use a trusted brand!

These do sound like really nice products. The Smooth Infusion sounds particularly nice. The humidity definitely does a number on my hair.

I have also never tried Aveda products. When it gets hot out, my hair does get frizzy so I may have to get their smoother. Other than that, my hair is just flat and straight! LOL!

I absolutely love Aveda products. They smell amazing and work so well. I love going into their stores or salons just to enjoy the aroma. I haven’t tried their dry shampoo, but I will definitely be checking it out in the near future.

That sounds really awesome. I’ve used Aveda as well, although it’s their skin products that I am familiar with. Thanks for sharing your experience with their hair care products, I’d love to give these a try especially since I have dry hair!

Having AA hair texture I’m not so sure that Aveda would work for me. I use something totally different that works.

I haven’t heard of Aveda products. I try not to put to many chemicals in my hair these days. I do use a shine spray which also helps fight tangles. I have super long hair and I was shocked at how healthy it was considering it’s been a long time since I have had a trim.

When I lived in Chicago, I was just a block away from an Aveda salon. I absolutely loved going their for my very curly and dry hair. I would come out with slick, straight here with an incredible smell!

I have some crazy hair as well. My friend has it worse though. She’s tried everything under the sun to tame her frizz. I’ll have to pass this along!
