I love when I find new boutiques /companies with a good cause and I love sharing my finds with you!! What can I say, I love sharing things…HA!!

I was recently contacted by the ladies of HorseFeathers Jewelry & Gifts to see if I wanted to review a piece of their jewelry and while I absolutely fell in love with the piece I received, I think I fell more in love with their mission.

HorseFeathers Jewelry & Gifts was founded in Western Kentucky in 2009 by mother/daughter duo Tammy and Chelsea. HorseFeathers is an eco-friendly brand that features handmade accessories from recycled metal components and they use recycled and recyclable packaging and shipping products! Their company is also Platinum Green Business Certified.

Each month HorseFeathers donates a portion of their sales to the ASPCA and they work with the Upward Dog Rescue in Southern California, The Arrow Fund in Kentucky, and local rescue groups. For the groups they work with they have a fund set aside to help cover emergency situations and emergent vet bills. They have also adopted over 18 rescue animals among the entire HorseFeathers team. If that’s not a good cause, I don’t know what is.

necklace

The piece I chose to review from HorseFeathers is the Blame it All on My Roots necklace. This piece is hand stamped and includes a charm of my home state, Arkansas, and a pearl! I love pearls and love repping my home state so this was the perfect necklace for me! I also love that saying “blame it all on my roots…” Always makes me want to break out in song, HA! Blame that on Garth Brooks.

I mentioned earlier that HorseFeathers is eco-friendly and that every piece is handmade but what I didn’t tell you is that each piece is created using recycled silver, brass and other metals including PMC. PMC (precious metal clay) is great stuff…particles of earth-friendly reclaimed pure silver are mixed with an organic binder which burns away during firing making the finished item 99.9% pure silver. Keep in mind that sterling silver is only .925, or 92.5% silver.

I love all of their hand stamped jewelry and they have some seriously cute earrings and bracelets that I need. HA! I am a stud earrings kind of girl because I can wear those to work and these are my favorite!! #NeedItNow

I am also obsessed with these silk wrap bracelets. While I love a good arm party I don’t wear bracelets often because 1. I can’t wear them to work and 2. they get on my nerves when I type. These bracelets just wrap around your wrist though and don’t dangle, plus the charms are adorable and I think I could definitely rock one of these while I type!! There are all different colors of the wraps to choose from and all different charms!

Along with necklaces, earrings, and rings Horse Feathers also carries a line of mugs and koozies that I love!! I think we all know at this point how mug obsessed I am and so I am totally going to order this one!! Isn’t it just the cutest??

I love the whole idea of recycled metal is being used in jewelry. A friend of mine would totally be buying all her jewelry there.

Oh my gosh. Those pieces are just amazing. I love companies that give back and I am more inclined to purchase from them. I was actually considering changing up my Etsy shops to donate a portion of annual revenue to Project SemiColon and TWLOHA.
