I love reading and have been getting most of my book recommendations from blogs lately so today I thought I would share with you what I’ve been reading lately!
I listen to a lot of audiobooks and read a lot on my kindle app and that is just so weird to me because I thought I would never give up reading “real” books. But let’s be honest, audiobooks and digital books are just so convenient!
So what have I been reading lately? Let’s see…
Go Set a Watchman. I have wanted to read this book since it came out but I heard such bad reviews about it I was a little reluctant. I actually listened to the audiobook which was read by Reese Witherspoon and I thought she did an amazing job! As far as the book itself, yes it showed racism but it was written in the height of racism in the US and I don’t think it was honestly ever meant to be published. But it was and I’m glad I read it. It really showed another side of Harper Lee.
Fly Away. This book is a part two to Kristin Hannah’s original Firefly Lane. I over Firefly Lane and proceeded to read every one of Kristin Hannah’s books I could get my hands on after that. It’s been a few years since i first read about Kate and Tully but this book really delved more into their friendship and Tully’s past. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!
Heiresses. This is a book written by Sara Shepard, the genius behind Pretty Little Liars but this book is so much better!! This is more of an adult book and it’s a murder mystery that is very twisted and sinister. I liked it so much I ordered a fe more of her non-PLL books!!
If I Stay. I meant to read this book a long time ago so I could watch the movie but I never did either. Oops! This book is young adult but is a total romance mixed with a little mystery. Just the way I like it. I watched the movie after and loved it as well. I also want to read more of Gayle Forman’s books! I think there is a sequel to this one??
The Matchmaker. I have always loved Elin Hilderbrand. I always read her books during the summer because they are always based around the beach! This book was amazing and I have to admit I may have shed a tear or two. It has love, mystery, betrayal, all the good stuff!
Luckiest Girl Alive. This book. HOLY MOLY was it good!!! I immediately looked for more books written by Jessica Knoll but this was her debut novel. Ugh. This is definitely twisted suspense very much like Gillian Flynn so if you liked Gone Girl you should definitely pick this book up!! LOVED IT!!!
What books have you been reading lately??

I was so absolutely disappointed by “Go Set a Watchman.” Not because of the racism, because that is historically accurate, but because of the disjointed story. I bet it would have been better hearing Reese Witherspoon read it.
