Being the token single lady in my family comes with a lot of responsibility. I have to be an adult when it comes to conversations, the cool Aunt when I hang with my nieces and nephews, and I have the job of coming up with fun drink recipes when we all get together.

Being from the south, sweet tea is practically a way of life. I am sad to admit that I didn’t like it growing up, I suspect it was too sweet because my sister was always a little heavy handed with the sugar, but I have grown to love it over the years.

My parents host our family Christmas at their house on Christmas Eve and we eat and drink a lot. My Dad always does steaks on the grill; my step-mom makes the best gumbo, shrimp kabobs, and chicken kabobs; my sister always brings the sweets; and I bring the drinks. Everyone else brings sides, dips, and whatever else. We sort of skip the whole “traditional Christmas dinner” and just do what we like. That’s our tradition!

This year I think I am going to make a Sweet Tea Sangria! I have seen a few recipes floating around Pinterest and the fruit at my local WalMart has looked exceptionally good this year. I found the most gorgeous Honey Crisp Apples, Navel Oranges, and a big old bag of cranberries that were just calling my name.

This recipe is super fun and colorful!! I love the brightness of the fruit, the cranberry color, and the taste!! I think this holiday drink is on point!!

This recipe is super fun and colorful!! I love the brightness of the fruit, the cranberry color, and the taste!! I think this holiday drink is on point!! I also love that you can do a mocktail or add some white wine and make it into a cocktail. I don’t know about your family but in mine if the kids see you drinking something they want whatever it is. This recipe can be both “family friendly” and “adult friendly” at the same time! Because you know I am all about being able to put a little spin in a recipe and make it your own. BOOM!

Being the  single lady that I am, not only am I super frugal but I am all about convince. Sure, I could make my own sweet tea at home but why when I get it from Milo’s for around the same price and it’s just easier to grab and go? Know what I mean?

A little background…Milo’s Tea Company is a family owned, certified woman owned business located in Bessemer, AL. Milo’s was founded as a restaurant in 1946 by Milo and Bea Carlton after Milo returned from serving his country in World War II.  Milo’s philosophy was simple – use high quality, fresh, natural ingredients, listen to your customers and never sacrifice taste. In 1989, Milo’s began selling their fresh brewed Famous Sweet Tea to local Birmingham grocery stores and now Milo’s beverages can be found in thousands of retailers across the United States. Milo and Bea’s vision still guides the company today as Milo’s continues to source only natural ingredients, fresh brew all of their teas and never use colors, acids, additives or preservatives. Read the simple ingredient list on their juices and teas, and you will see the Difference. Drink Milo’s and Taste the Difference.

You can find Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea (and unsweet tea, no calorie tea, and lemonade) at your local WalMart! It was in the refrigerator section in between the milk and coffee creamer for me. Don’t forget that right now the sweet tea 2/$5 when you buy the gallon jugs while supplies last!!

Have you tried Milo’s tea or lemonade??

This looks really good and simple to make. I would totally add a touch of red wine to make it an extra great day.

This sounds tasty. I love buying sweet tea that is premade. It just tastes better but I think it’s because we have terrible water where we live.
