Midweek Randoms

This post contains affiliate links.

Tomorrow is a big day in the blogging world…or at least for me it will be. Tomorrow is my FIVE YEAR BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY!! How did that even happen?? I have no idea. More on that tomorrow though, today we will talk about random thing, HA!

A couple weeks ago my friend Elizabeth came to town and we went to the Junior League’s Annual holiday shopping event, Holiday House. We usually go every year and have a blast shopping, snacking, and drinking our way from booth to booth. I haven’t seen her much since her wedding because she moved a couple hours away after that so it was great to catch up with her and see how married life is!! I am also solo into the Christmas Spirit now!! I can’t wait to decorate!!

HH2015

I also got to see her this past weekend when she hosted a baby shower for a friend of ours in Bentonville, home of WalMart. I got up at the crack of dawn and drove three and a half hours to go and it was sooooo much fun!! I love the drive to NorthWest Arkansas (NWA) and especially going through the Fayetteville Tunnel! That always means I’m getting close…

Have you seen all the “controversy” over this crazy #RedCup of Starbucks?? I, personally, found;t care less but people are going nuts about it on social media. I love Candace Cameron Bure’s thoughts on it so I thought I would share that with you.

CCB

One last midweek random is that I am completely obsessed with this meal lately. It is grilled chicken, green peas, and a brown rice/quinoa mix and it just fantastic! It’s super easy to make and I may just have to share the “recipe” with you soon!! #ImLovingIt

YUM

What are your thoughts on the Starbucks #RedCup scandal??

I am completely baffled over the Starbucks coffee thing. The only problem I have with it, is that the cup is not filled with Dunkin Donuts coffee ;)

I love meeting friends for a cup of coffee! That dish looks good, I may have to whip that up for my husband one day this week.

I have not been a fan of Starbucks because I think their prices are ridiculous. I am also not interested in getting their planner or freebie. Its just coffee, regardless of the cup you put it in. Lets just keep Jesus in Christmas and not make a big issue out of it.

I had no idea about the Starbucks issue. I think it’s too shallow that they made an issue out of it. The rice dish looks so delicious.

Happy Blogiversary! And as for the Starbucks cup issue, I think it’s much ado about nothing. It’s a red cup…for your coffee.

I agree with you. I think there are more important things to worry about than what color a cup is and if someone is implying that Christmas should be celebrated or not.

My thoughts on the red cup is that everyone needs more to do if that’s what gets you upset. :)

I agree with you it is just a red cup! I do not see what all the fuss is about. It is smart of them to use a red cup because any leftovers can be used for Valentines day.

Honestly I think things are getting a little ridiculous. Why would a little decoration on a coffee cup insult anyone?

OMG the Starbucks Cup Gate is so annoying. Starbucks isnt a christian company and its just a cup and its red. Why are people so mad? If they were real Christians they wouldnt need a cup to put them in the “Christ” mas spirit. Makes me wanna buy a cup even more now to prove I dont need a cup to celebrate the holiday better I just want my frappacino!

I think people have nothing better to do with their lives which is sad. It is a cup, they don’t own Starbucks, they have no controlling parts and they have NO SAY in what a cup looks like. Just dumb!

I still don’t understand the whole red cup ordeal! I’m convicted a Startbucks PR person started it all…. Way too much attention for something so pointless….
