RMHC Day of Change

I am a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonalds. While I am being compensated for this post all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Day of Change will be Thursday October 15 nation wide! What is the Day of Change and why should you care?? Good question!!

RMHC Day of Change is a one day fundraising event where you are encouraged to visit your local McDonalds and fill up those RMHC Donation Boxes that you always see in the drive-thru and on the counters. The money collected in those boxes helps families stay close to their child’s side when they are in the hospital by funding Ronald McDonald Charity Houses across the nation.

Remember a few months ago when I went to the groundbreaking of the brand new RMHC Arkansas House? It was funded by generous donations from community members, corporations, and by those little Donation Boxes set up at local McDonalds. How cool is that to see your donations put to good use in your community?? I think it’s awesome!!

This year’s event is extra special because October 15 also marks the anniversary of the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.

Fun Fact: did you know that the RMHC house in Philadelphia was initially funded by sales from Shamrock Shakes?? It’s a really neat story and you can check that out here if you want to learn more about it.

Each year, RMHC serves approximately 9 million children and their families across 62 countries and regions around the world. Each day about 20,000 families are impacted in some way by RMHC by way of RMHC Houses, RMHC Family Rooms, meals, activities, etc. That’s a lot of people!!

So, on Thursday when you are out and about going to work, school, running errands, whatever you are doing; please stop by your local McDonalds and treat yourself to an ice cold Carmel Frappe and make whatever donation you can in the RMHC Donation Boxes. No donation is too big or too small, every little bit helps!!

I think the Ronald McDonald house is super important. We have them near the children’s hospitals in Canada and several years ago I wanted to do volunteer work with them, but they already had so many.

The Ronald McDonald House is such an amazing organization. When my daughter was in the hospital, I watched how much the houses affected other NICU families. Great charity to support.

We have a Ronald McDonald House here in Dallas. One of my cousins and her family used it when their daughter was hospitalized. Such an amazing organization. I’ve said for years I want my family to volunteer there together. I think my boys are finally old enough…. it’s time.

Yup, no donation is too big or small and we donate as much as we can. We don’t have a Ronald McDonald House here, but I’m surely delighted how they’re helping people.
