WhatI'mReading

First of all Happy Memorial Day!! I am working today, that’s hospital life for you, but I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday. All I ask is that you please remember the reason for celebration.

This week I thought I would do a little “What I’m…” series and tell you all about what I’ve been up to lately. Today I will start with what I’ve been reading. In case you are new around here I love to read. I love chick lit, murder mysteries, historical romance, christian lit, and everything in between. What can I say, I just like to read!!

Let’s get started…

I just finished The Heir over the weekend and I thought it was fantastic. I really love The Selection series and if you haven’t read them then I highly suggest you do. This book picked up where the last one left off but jumps ahead 18 years. I really enjoyed reading about the new selection and catching up on the lives of some of my favorite characters.

lo-res

I loved Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and this book was just as good!! I seriously love series and really getting to know characters and follow them for a good length of time. This book picked up exactly where the first one left off and was awesome. If you love a good suspense story then yo should check it out.

Secrets Over Sweet Tea is written by Denise Hildreth Jones, one of my very favorite southern christian lit writers. Her Savannah from Savannah series is one I read every summer because it the perfect pool/beach read. Secrets Over Sweet Tea was the perfect spring read and made me realize that everyone is going through something and that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. DHJ always leaves you thinking about something at the end of  a book. I love all of her books.

mka

Speaking of southern lit, I have recently discovered Mary Kay Andrews. I have downloaded these audiobooks, and a few more, from my local library right to my phone so I can listen to them as I get ready in the morning and while I drive in the car. I have loved everything I have read/listened to of MKA and can’t wait to get my hands on more.

I’m getting my list together of books I want to read this summer. If you have any suggestions let me know!!

Do you love to read??
What was the last book you read??

That dress on the cover of the first book is amazing! And the sweet tea book looks so good! And I never go to the beach without Mary Kay Andrews! :)

Happy Memorial Day! I am and avid reader too. I have been a big fan of Sarah J Pepper’s and I must say I tend to get her newest books as soon as they are released. Her latest book – Snow White Lies I think would be right up your alley.

I am not really into fictional literature but the cover of Hollow City caught my attention. Anyway, as the saying goes, don’t judge the book by its cover. Haha! Happy Memorial Day!

I’ve just begun reading again after a long break due to lack of time. I always look for good book recommendations. That Hollow City one looks so eerie!
