pages

When I was a little girl I begged my Mom to change my name to Page so I could own a book store called Pages when I grew up. I was a smart little thing, LOL! I love to read and if there was a creed where I could just read books all day I would be in heaven. Instead, I will just blog about the books I have been reading lately.

I read a lot  of books over Christmas break. I seriously had a huge stack of books on my nightstand and completely finished those books and had to go buy more! Thank goodness for Amazon and Hastings! Yes, I still love “real” books. I buy/rent digital too but those are mostly just to read at work or on the go. I still love the feel of a book in my hands and the smell of the pages.

So what have I been reading? Let’s hit the highlights…

leaving time

I will start with the book I just finished, Jodi Picoult’s Leaving Time. Excuse my language but this book was a totally mind fuck. I feel like I need to go back and reread it just to get the full experience. I have loved Jodi Picoult ever since I took Plain Truth to the beach with me over Spring Break many moons ago. She is a brilliant writer and talks about real life subjects like assisted suicide, school shootings, adoption, God, the Holocaust, and many more. I have read )and own) all of her books and I highly suggest reading her books ASAP.

one and only

Emily Griffin’s The One and Only was really good too. Not on JP level but I still loved it. I believe that I have read all of her books too. This book was set in Chicago and I love learning about places I have never been before. It has a LOT of John Hughes references so if you love his movies then you will love his books!! I will admit that this book stressed me out though with all the home remodeling and book deadlines she was up against, LOL!!

UK BoO

I finally finished the latest Percy Jackson book. I love this series so I’m not sure what took me so long to finish it but I did! I am almost ashamed to say that most of my Greek Mythology knowledge has come from these books but I am kicking some major ass on Trivia Crack because of it. It says on the cover that it is the last battle ever but they left it with a cliffhanger so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another.

cuckoo silkworm

I listened to Robert Galbraith aka JK Rowling’s The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm on audiobook. I rent them from my local library and upload them to an app on my phone. Super nerd, I know. I was really interested in reading these because, hello, JK Rowling! I love a good murder/mystery and these did not disappoint! I read that they were going to be made into a TV series and I just don’t see how. Most tv shows in the murder mystery genre have a case solved every episode and this series only has two cases so far. I guess they will stretch it out?? You know I will watch it anyway…LOL!!

So that’s what I’ve been reading lately, what have you read??

Look at you go! Have you read Serena, by Ron Rash? It is coming out as a movie this year with Jennifer Lawrence, and it was very good. I highly recommend it.

I may have to pick up Leaving Time! It’s been a while since I actually read a book (Gone Girl was my last). It’s time for another book!

Great to know! I had to write a paper on a Jodi Piccoult book, and I hated it, so much. So, I refuse to read her books ever again, lol. I know that’s totally not fair, but I just hated that darn book. I wanted to read the JK Rowling one, and I think you’ve convinced me.

I have read some of Jodi Picoult’s books but not many. I’ve read all of Emily Giffin’s books and I LOVE her!

Ok. I love books so I wrote down all of these that I haven’t read yet. The One & Only and Leaving Time I’ll for sure get. I have the J.K. Rowling books, but I haven’t read them yet!
