Cocaine Mountain aka My Ohio Vacation

This post contains affiliate links.

It’s that time already…time for an Ohio recap!!!

Sophie and I left last Wednesday and drove all. day. long.

photo 1

She did soooo good in her car seat even though she pouted a few times.

photo 2

Look at that smoldering stare…I could have a doggie model on my hands!! HA!!

We drove for 13 hours from central Arkansas to central Ohio. It would have only taken 11 hours someone (cough, cough, SOPHIE) needed to stop every 2 hours to walk around and pee. I’m not going to lie, I needed a serious yoga session by the time we reached our final destination.

We stayed the first few days with my bestie Libby!

photo 5

She has two small dogs and Sophie was in doggie heaven!! They played and played and played while we ate and ate and ate. I am going to need to detox when I get home for sure!!

Our first trip out on Thursday we went to Chipotle. I officially lost my Chipotle virginity and it was YUMMY!! I got a burrito bowl with brown rice, barbacoa, pinto beans, corn salsa, spicy salsa, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole!! It was AMAZING!!!! I will definitely be back. At an Arkansas location of course.

photo 3

PS- Who knew that Chipolte was owned by McDonalds?!

photo 4

After lunch we hit up Polaris and did some shopping!!! I love shopping!! Especially with my bestie!!! One of my fave sores we hit up was Lush. I had never been in a Lush before and it was mind blowing! Those bath bombs are HUGE!! #TWSS I am proud of myself for only leaving with a blueberry face mask. I honestly didn’t know that all of their products were handmade and had to be kept in a refrigerator. It’s good stuff y’all.

photo 3

For dinner that night we ate at  one ff my absolute faves, which we do NOT have in Arkansas, The Cheesecake Factory!!! We started with this yummy Warm Crab and Artichoke Dip…it is seriously heaven in your mouth!!

photo 1

For my entree I had the Louisiana Chicken Pasta!! There was soooo much food on my plate I could have fed myself and three other people!…instead I ate half and ate the other half for breakfast the next morning. Oops.

photo 2

This pic was pre-parmesan. Obviously. I’m pretty sure when our waiter asked if I wanted parmesan on my pasta Libby muttered this little gem…

mountainI’m also pretty sure I laughed so hard I snorted parmesan and it looked like I just snorted cocaine. LMAO!

What I didn’t get a picture of was our cheesecake….blogger fail!! We actually had to get it to go because we were so full from dinner! Side note- I only took one bite of my cheesecake after taking it home. I really haven’t been craving sweets lately, thank you Plexus!!

The next day we were off to Easton for more shopping!! But first, let me take a selfie!

photo 4

photo 5

First up on our Easton expedition was a trip to Trader Joe’s!! I had never been to TJ’s before and Libby laughed at me for getting so excited about going grocery shopping. Needless to say she wasn’t laughing at me when we checked out. HA!

photo 2

I got these two bottles of wine, both Cookie Butters, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, and dog treats for $25. You can’t beat that at a regular grocery store!! That wine up there? AMAZING!!! It has cherries and raspberries and was only $3.99a bottle!!

After TJ’s we went to an outdoor mall that had the coolest movie theater ever!!!

photo 3

We didn’t go but it definitely on my to-do list or my next trip! They serve full meals there! And alcohol!

One of my fave stores that we went to was White Barn. I will elaborate more on it tomorrow but look at this beauty…

photo 4

For dinner that night we met up with a Plexus friend, Bobbi and ate at The Rusty Bucket. It was a delicious!! I got the mac and cheese!! Do you see a theme here? I LOVE pasta!! It is my downfall…

photo 5

After dinner we went to a chocolate boutique! I got a Ritz Cracker sandwich with peanut butter in the middle and then the whole thing was dipped in chocolate! Tasted like a Reeses cup!

photo 1

After that we went next door to Fuzziwigs, a candy shop, where I found these beauties!!!!!!

photo 2

Y’all know I am obsessed with Harry Potter right?!

Saturday we stayed local and did a tiny bit of shopping and ate mexican for lunch and made a pizza at home for dinner. We also grabbed a couple of these at the grocery store to try!! Who knew these were included in Kroger’s 10 for $10 deal? Arkansas is seriously lacking in that deal. Arkansas is also lacking on our alcohol content. These Wicked Apples are 8% alcohol in Ohio and only 6% in Arkansas. Boo.

photo 3

Anyway, these were delicious!! I also picked up a coupe six packs of Smirnoff’s Peach Bellini Ice’s which I have not been able to find in Arkansas all summer.

On Sunday I drove to my grandparents house! We got their about lunch and my Neenee (grandma) had my fave meal ever made!!! Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, creamy corn, green beans, and rolls!! YUM!!!

Monday I took my Neenee out for a mani/pedi and lunch since her birthday was last month. She also snatched one bottle of my TJ’s wine, my candle from White Barn, and make me buy her cupcakes. LOL!! We ate lunch at Cracker Barrel (her choice) and we split this Salted Carmel Blondie for desert. Sinful y’all, just sinful.

photo 4

On Monday we hosted a dinner party for my aunt and uncle and some of my grandparents friends. I made a big blogger fail and didn’t take a single pic. OOPS!

Tuesday we hit up WalMart where I found these beauties…

photo

They will be perfect for fall!!! Can’t wait to try them!!! I didn’t take many pics while I was with my grandparents…we slept late and went to bed early each day. We lounged around in pjs until noon and didn’t leave the house until at least 2 each day. It was awesome!!!

On Wednesday Sophie and I left early and headed home. Overall I had a fantastic vacation!!! Love my Ohio friends and family!!!

Great recap. It sounds like you had an excellent trip! I once drove from Kentucky to Michigan with my dog and it took forever to get there because the dog refused to use the bathroom. I kept stopping and making him try; he refused and held it the entire way. Crazy pug!

Looking at your pictures makes me miss home!! I used to go to Easton all of the time!! A visit to Chipotle, LUSH and Trader Joes seems like a good time to me!! We have those AMC movie theaters here and they are addicting. I never want to go to a “regular” movie theatre anymore because their Margarita is AHH-MAZING! Seems like you had a good trip!

Looks like your trip was a blast! Any trip with a visit to a Lush store is an excellent one in my book. I could seriously spend my entire paycheck in there!! :)

Looks like you guys had a great time. I wish we had a Trader Joe’s in Little Rock. A Cheesecake Factory would also be nice.
