WILW: Aloe Vera

This post contains affiliate links.

I am dedicating today’s What I’m Loving Wednesday post to one of my must-have summer staples, aloe vera!

Green leaves of alow plant close up

Aloe has saved me from many sunburns, kitchen mishaps, and countless Chi incidents. I used to have a small aloe plant but it got crushed in the move to mu house a few years ago and I never replaced it. Instead I just have a ton of products that have it as a main ingredient! What is aloe exactly? Good question!

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant (as pictured above) that contains rejuvenating, healing, and/or soothing properties. Basically you just break a piece of the limb off the plant, squeeze the goo out, and rub it all over the burned area. Easy peasy!

So what are my fave products that contain aloe? Let’s see…

vaseline

This is my newest fave lotion for summer! I love how light it is and the smell is amazing!!

aftersun

Another lotion, but this one is by Banana Boat and smells amazing. It is also perfect to use right after you get out of the shower post pool/beach day. It will help extend the life of your tan and did I mention how amazing it smells? Love it!!

lidocaine

Aloe gel with Lidocaine. This is a legit summer staple that I learned to appreciate the summer I was a lifeguard/counselor at a summer camp. It is your basic aloe gel but with Lidocaine which numbs the skin so you can wear clothes and get some sleep!! I like to put mine in the fridge so it is super cold and super soothing!

xfactor

Aloe doesn’t have to come in the form of a lotion of a gel to be beneficial. Plexus’s XFactor multivitamin contains aloe as one of it’s many amazing ingredients. In multivitamin form aloe gets you healthy from the inside out! Along with the help of New Zealand Black Currant it oxygenates the body safeguarding against damages and/or dysfunctional cells.  Since I have started taking XFactor I have noticed my hair and nails growing like crazy! I take it first thing in the morning and have definitely noticed an increase in energy also and that is always a plus! If you are interested in XFactor check out my Plexus site or email me at riccialexis93@gmail.com

Does the spray and go lotion really work? I feel like it wouldn’t really moisturize. Thank you for sharing Ricci :)
