What I’ve Been Reading Lately

This post contains affiliate links.

Sorry for the late post y’all. I slept in until an unheard of 9:40 this morning!! Can I get a hallelujah for that?! I must have been really tired…

Today Kelly from Kelly’s Korner is hosting her SUYL (Show Us Your Life) linkup and today it’s about books so y’al know I had to join in. I haven’t written about the books I’ve been reading lately and so this linkup came at the perfect time!

So, what have I been reading? Let’s get to it!

The Fault in Our Stars. I think I mentioned that I finished this book last week but y’all it is truly amazing. It’s about a girl who has a terminal cancer and she meets a guy in her support group and they bond over a book and a video game and it just tells their story. Yes, it’s about kids who have caner. Yes, it’s sad. Yes, it is a must read. HTe movie comes out this summer and I can’t wait!!

women's murder club

James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series. I have only read listened to the first two books but I am already in love with this series. I love audiobooks because I have a 30 minute commute to work/school and so I can et at least an hours worth of listening in a day. Call me a nerd, it’s sad but true.

James Patterson’s Alex Cross series. What can I say? I love me some James Patterson! I always said I wouldn’t read this series because it’s so long but y’all know me, I read one and got sucked in! I love long series though because I feel like I really get to know the characters. I love Alex, Brie, Damon, Jannie, Ali, and Nana Mama! I am about to start book 17 this week!!

The Vampire Academy series. I watched the movie on my birthday and then started to read the books after. I broke another on elf my rules here and watched the movie first. Bad Ricci! The movie was great but the books safe soooo much better! Duh. I am on the fourth one right now. If you are into Twilight and The Hunger Games and thos types of books you will like these.

I think that’s about it for now. I have Allegiant (the third book in the Divergent series) and Nicholas Sparks The Longest Ride on my nightstand to read next. I love to read!!

What kind of books do you like to read?

I really reallly really want to read that John Green book. There are so many people talking about how great it is and I need to read it before the movie comes out. Also, I’m surprised at the Vampire Diaries. I know I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I wasn’t expecting much from the film/book. I think I’ll have to check it out.

I read The Fault in Our Stars when it first came out — so good! I wish I had more time to leisurely read — it’s something I miss so much!

I liked The Fault in Our Stars. I’ll probably end up seeing the movie this summer. I have been meaning to get around to the Vampire Academy series for a long time now, for some reason I just haven’t read those books yet. Maybe I need to hurry up and do that.

I cry at the Bad Guy Affirmation as Wreck it Ralph is plummeting towards diet cola mountain in order to save the Brat with Dirty hair – clutching his handmade metal.

Oh. And Milo & Otis, Homeward Bound, and Marley & Me are BANNED in my house. I spend the next 2 days wearing a robe swearing off anymore pets and in a nasty somber mood. Bwhahahahah

Yes, I am a funky critter, I know. It sounds like a really good story I just had to learn not to read/watch things I had emotions to. I R A Feely person haha!

Vampire Academy series has been on my radar for awhile now, but I have yet to read any of them. The same with The Fault in our Stars, it sounds so good too. I must read it soon!

I have a wide variety of books I like, which I think is great being such a bookworm. Right now I am reading three books. lol Letters to Ann by Ann Marie, Private Entrance by Kathryn Harvey and The Chase by Janet Evanovich – all are really good!

I’m currently reading The Fault in Our Stars. I am taking it probably slower than I normally do with books I love. I downloaded the sample of the 4 books by John Green and plan to read the rest then.

I don’t mind those sad books – because they are real and truthful.
