Fat Tuesday at the Arkansas State Fair

Yesterday my work friends and I went to the Arkansas State Fair!!! During the week you can get in free from 11-1 and parking is free too. Score!!!

It was the only day that we were all off and unfortunately it decided to rain all day. YUCK! We didn’t let the rain get us down though  so we put on our ponchos and made the best of it.

We weren’t there to ride the rides anyway, we were there for the food!! We decided that all diets were out of the picture and we just ate whatever we wanted! We started with foot long corn dogs!!

Elizabeth got a Dole Whip!!! Tastes like a trip to the beach on a stick!!

After corndogs and Dole Whip we  we all split a blooming onion!!

Elizabeth loved the blooming onion…LOL!

Next we moved on to the sweets….we got a regular funnel cake and a Red Velvet funnel cake to split! The Red Velvet had both powdered sugar and cream cheese frosting drizzled on top. It was heavenly!!

After funnel cakes Elizabeth wanted to try Baconade. What is Baconade you ask? Bacon Lemonade. Interesting. The rest of us got Strawberry Lemonade and I forgot to take pics of that…blogger fail! But I did get a pic of Elizabeth trying her Baconade.

Yeah….it was awful!! Needless to say it found it’s way to the trash real quick!!! She needed to redeem herself after that so she got some Fried Jello!

Fried Jello is basically pancake batter flavored with Jello packets and fried then topped with cream cheese frosting!! YUM!! It tasted like warm jam on pancakes. Get in my tummy now!!!!

After all that food we walked around in the rain and checked out the attractions and walked through the craft barn. We saw some HUGE pumpkins and watermelons!!

On our way out Elizabeth wanted to try some Chicken and Waffles on a stick…

The guys who ran the stand made us take her pic in front of the Cougar Juice sign. He said it was Instagram famous…LOL!

After walking around in the rain all afternoon our shoes and jeans were soaked!! I came straight home and took a steamy hot bubble bath and put on my fuzzy pjs and took a much needed nap on the couch. I have to say that this was one of my favorite days so far this fall. I officially LOVE Fat Tuesday at the fair!!
