My face has been going crazy lately! I am 30 years old and I feel like I have the face of a 13 year old…YUCK! Actually I never even got acne when I was a teenager so I’m really not sure why I am breaking out so bad now. I don’t mean that to sound like I’m bragging or anything, I broke out a little, but not like most teenagers do. Apparently my skin is making up for it now.
I mean seriously?! This pic doesn’t even do it justice. My right cheek and chin are gross right now! I haven’t changed any medications or face wash or anything and yet my face has been continuously breaking out since July. HELP! I was blaming it on summer but I don’t think that’s it…
I usually use the Clinique Acne line and it clears right up but nothing is touching this. Anyone have any ideas? Favorite acne clearing face wash? Any home remedies? I will try anything.
One of my friends recommended a retinol cream. Anyone use one? I need details please! I’m have an appointment with my dermatologist on Thursday and hopefully she can help me out. Until then I will take any and all suggestions!

Girl, I feel your pain. My face broke out when I was 12 years old and 22 years later I’m still fighting those bumps. I’m currently using Clinique as well, but not the acne line. The acne line seemed to dry my face out too much and I realized that all that dry skin was just clogging my pores even more. I used the oily skin face wash, pink toner and then a moisturizer. I also use Clinique foundation. Good luck!
Adult acne is the worst! I have recurring bouts of adult acne, and I found that the Dr. Dennis Gross All-Over Acne Solution gel helped tremendously (purchased at Sephora). Even now when I’m not fully broken out, I use it as a spot treatment and my pimples are gone in 1 to 2 days. It’s safe to say that I am in love with this product! Some of my friends also swear that using witch hazel as an alternative to standard toner and astringent keeps their acne at bay. I haven’t tried it, but I plan to next time I have a full break-out.
Neutrogena (the orange gel) wash gel is THE BEST. My husband had terrible acne and this is the only thing that helpes and is continuesly helping!!!
