OHIO or Bust

This post contains affiliate links.

Morning pretties!! I realize that it is almost 11 my time and yes I did just wake up. I blame the ghetto fabulous “curtain” aka blanket I pinned in front of my window last night so I could sleep in. I worked until 11 last night and I usually wake up when the sun comes in my window at 7am and I decided I wanted to sleep in . I honestly thought I would only sleep until 8 or 9. Guess not! LOL!

On to todays post….

OHIO or BUST!

This was the caption on this pic of me and my Sophie puppy. This was as we were leaving for our very first Mommy/Baby Puppy road trip last week. We went to go see my grandparents and my best friend. They live about 2 hours away from each other in Ohio. Weird huh?

We traveled through three states, four if you include Arkansas where we started from.

I think we did good! The trip was supposed to be 9 hours and we did it in 10 with stops so somebody….cough, cough, Sophie…could walk and pee. I’m proud my sweet girl did so good on such a long trip. SHe made herself right at home in the car…

We got to my grandparents and I think Sophie was a little bit obsessed with their house. They had not one but two staircases and my girl loves to climb stairs! We had the attic bedroom and I think Sophie went up and down the stairs at least 20 times a night. LOL!

Our second day in Ohio I went shopping at The Salvation Army with my Neenee (grandma) and I was sooooo mad I didn’t have a bigger car because they had a TON of awesome furniture I wanted to redo! GAH! I did make out iwth a pretty awesome picture frame I want to redo! I can’t wait! After shopping I took my Neenee out to eat at Cracker Barrel (her fave) and we did a little shopping in there. CB has some CUTE stuff!

That night we went to eat at my Uncle’s house and took a zucchini and a bottle of wine. I’m afraid we took more zucchini than wine…LMAO!

The next day it was rainy so we stayed home all day and the day after that Sophie and I loaded up and drove 2 hours to stay with my bestie and her puppy babies!! When we got there it was around lunch time and we went to eat my fave…MEXICAN!!! Can I just say that Ohio people are weird because I ordered a Chicken Fajita Chimichanga and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. She asked if I wanted Chicken Fajitas and after I finally explained I wanted a chicken chimichanga with chicken fajita meat she rolled her eyes and said “ohhhhh…you want a chimichanga with grilled chicken.” Sure. Whatev. When I got my plate I had to dig under a salad of lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guac to find my chicken chimi. After all of that I forgot to take a picture. BOO! Rant over.

We did get some pretty yummy melon margaritas though…

The next day we went shopping!!! Now, when Libby and I normally go shopping it’s an all day ordeal. We used to do this on my weekends off when we were both in LIttle Rock but it’s been a couple years. I will go ahead and admit now that I had not prepared myself and may or may not have had a mini breakdown in the clearance section of Charming Charlie’s. I was tired, hungry, and turned into a brat! HA! Anyway, here are my pics…

The story behind my Butter Pecan Frapp…we went to Starbs in the mall for a mid shop break and checked out the Secret Starbucks Menu website and ordered drinks from there. This drink has turned in to my new fave drink!!! Here is the recipe…

After shopping until we I dropped and then we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. We got the Warm Crab and Artichoke dip for an appetizer and can I just say I could have stopped after that and I could have died a happy woman? That stuff is AMAZING!! Too bad I didn’t get a pic. Bad blogger! I did get a pic of my Shrimp and Chicken Cajun Jambalaya though!

IMG_4693

And you can’t go to The Cheesecake Factory and not get cheesecake! I got the Tiramisu Cheesecake and it was TO DIE FOR!

IMG_4694

The next day we did a little low key shopping and went to TJ Maxx and then to McD’s for lunch. Can I just say that Ohio really loves their team and I almost couldn’t drink out of this cup…

IMG_4704

After that we took the puppies to the park to run and of course I forgot to take pics. My bad! That night we went to eat at Godfather’s and had some YUMMY pizza!! Again, I forgot to take food pics. What’s up with that?!

The next day Sophie and I drove home. As much as I love visiting my fam and my bestie I love going home too. I hav never been more happy to see this sign…

I had a wonderful vacation and I am NOT ready to go back to work.

Did you go to Columbus or Cleveland? Those are my guesses just based on The Cheesecake Factory & Charming Charlie.
