Are you a blogger? Do you fit into the “typical” blogging categories/niches? I don’t! When someone asks me what kind of blogger I am I honestly get stumped when trying to answer them. Do we all need to fit into niches? Do we need “titles”? Maybe so.
I call myself a lifestyle blogger. I guess that’s because none of the other “categories” really fit me. I’m not a mommy blogger, a fitness blogger, a “planning a wedding” blogger, a fashion blogger, a weight loss blogger (although I probably should be), or any of the other types of blogger.
I just blog about my life and I’m ok with that.
I love reading all types of blogs from the above mentioned categories/niches but that’s not me right now.
I like the term lifestyle because I don’t feel like I need to blog about certain things or avoid certain topics. My blog started as a journal and has grown so much from there.
I have met some of my very best friends on here and hope to meet even more of you soon!!!
Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT hating on people with niche blogs, that’s just not my style.
I would love to blog about my OOTD or my workouts but lets be honest…I wear scrubs every day for work and pj’s when I get home. The only exercise I do involves all of the walking I do at work because when I get home from working 12 hours all I want to do is eat dinner and go to bed. No one wants to hear about or see all of that…LOL!
I would also love to blog about my engagement/wedding or children…but again, I’m just not there yet. One day, but not yet.
I am a lifestyle blogger and I am 100% ok with that. What’s that old saying? It’s my blog and I can blog about what I want to? Close, enough if you know what I mean! But that is me in a nutshell, a lifestyle blogger.
What kind of blogger are you??
Do you consider yourself a niche blogger or are you more lifestyle like me??

I feel exactly the same! I dont fall into any category. I’m unemployed and am finishing my degree online so I hardly ever get dressed up, I’m not a mom, and I cook pretty basic meals. Haha! I just write about whatever I feel like and I like it that way! :) Love your new layout with the name change by the way!!

I’m the same way. Lifestyle because then I can post what I want. Crafts, sometimes. Recipes, yes please! Home Improvement, there is always something new to share. Encouragement, teaching, tips, life in general. I post about it all…oh, and i probably should be a weight loss blogger as well ;) but I’m not.

Same here! Lifestyle blogs, that are just about the person, are the ones I enjoy most. That’s why I made a listing for lifestyle/random bloggers.

My first blog was a wedding planning blog, but after the wedding that kind of became irrelevant. I’m glad that I had that blog, though, because it was the first blog that I ever dedicated a lot of time and effort to. Now I’d say my blog is a lifestyle blog, in which I talk a LOT (but not exclusively) about weight loss, especially since the beginning of this year. Blogging has been the only thing that’s really worked for motivation/accountability so far, so thats why I talk about it so much. But I also write about so many other things that I’d say I’m a lifestyle blogger too :)

Lifestyle blogger here!! :) Although if we buy a house soon (crossing fingers!) I hope to steer my blog in the direction of DIY home makeover type posts. Love your blog!

I feel the same way. I’ve never known what to call myself. I guess I’m a lifestyle blogger too since I don’t fit in any of those categories either. I’ve thought about narrowing things down to be more focused, but I don’t like the idea of being limited to what I can write about.

I think I’m a lifestyle blogger… you know when I blog consistently which is well never! LOL.

I blog about being a mom and my attempt to get fit, how I feel each day, and total random thoughts that go thru my head. Does that qualify me as a Lifestyle blogger? I’m not sure random rambling blogger is a category! ;)

That’s where I am too.

The day I am just one category of a blogger is the day I’ll stop blogging!! Being labeled as just one thing isn’t realistic. Great post, girl.

You & I are so the same! I wish we lived closer! I too fit in the category of lifestyle & most days i wear scrubs only with pj’s of a night after my 12 hours shifts I love being a nurse but its time consuming sadly.

i guess i just don’t think of myself as a specific type of blogger. i just talk about my life and whatever else.
