Happy New Years Eve!! I’m thinking that next year can only get better right? It better…
Today I am linking up with Jenn and Jessica for…5 for Five NYE Edition!!
That’s right, a New Year’s Resolution version of 5 for Five!!! I can’t wait to share my resolutions with ya’ll…maybe if I share them I will actually keep them? We shall see…
But before I get to my resolutions I want to share with ya’ll how I did last week. I am going to forewarn you, it is Ugly. With a capital U. You have been warned. Here it goes…
1. Drink a protein shake on the mornings I have to work. FAIL. I was supposed to work three days this week and only ended up working two because I got snowed in and then I wound up staying at a friend’s house (still am) and didn’t want to bother with breakfast before work. Blenders are loud you know…
2. Do not spend any unnecessary monies. When you are snowed in you tend not to go anywhere to send monies. Just saying…
3. Do not eat any fast food. FAIL. When you are at a friend’s house you tend to try to be a good guest and not make any messes so eating out was a necessary evil this week.
4. Drink at least two LARGE glasses/mugs of water each day. FAIL. Diet Coke is my go-to when I am stressed apparently. I swear I drank my weight in DC this past week and I feel super gross because of it. Must do better next week…
5. Go through clothes and make a donation to Goodwill. I was more worried about putting tons of clothes on to keep warm than giving any away this week. HA! Plus in all fairness I haven’t really been home since Tuesday.
Honestly if it hadn’t snowed and I hadn’t gotten out of my normal routine I probably would have done better. I think…
Anyway, on to next week.
I am super excited to share my resolutions with ya’ll because I have been thinking about them for a while now. I really want to work on myself and get it together. I need to be more disciplined in certain areas and I need to give myself a break in others. Anyway…here they are!!
1. Become financially stable. I have a good job. I pay my bills on time. I am TERRIBLE at saving money. Usually whatever is left over from bill paying gets spent on random stuff. You know what I mean, stuff you “need”. And then I’m broke until the next payday. It sucks living paycheck to paycheck. And embarrassing to admit that I still live that way. But this is the year of change and doing better so I am determined to give up my money spending ways and start saving. I want to be able to tell you all that I saved lots of money this time next year. Wish me luck.
2. Work out regularly. I wish I could get back to working out with my trainer again but since that is out of the budget I will do something better…take a boxing class offered by my trainer! Yes you read that right, I am going to take a boxing class. Beginning boxing but boxing nonetheless. My trainer is going to start doing a group class and I am PUMPED! It’s only two days a week but that will be a good start. I don’t want to overwhelm myself and wind up quitting. I can’t wait to start class and feel stronger!
3. Eat cleaner. I’m not talking about going all organic and only eating raw food but I need to eat better. I am about to turn 30 and I really need to start taking better care of myself.
4. Be a better friend. I want to be a better IRL friend and a better bloggy friend. I feel like I have been running circles lately and I need to just take a step back and really connect again with my friends.
5. Organize my house. I am a neat freak so it always looks clean but I have many junk drawers and a file cabinet that needs sorting out BADLY. I feel like if I get my house organized it will also help me get my life organized and I can better complete my above mentioned resolutions.
Here’s to hoping I follow through on my resolutions and this time next year I can tell you how well I have done!! Wish me luck!!

It’s OKAY about last week. We ALL have those weeks…especially around the holidays & with all your snow craziness! I know you’ll be back on track soon so don’t stress too much :)
I think that you have some fabulous goals for 2013. You certainly are a FABULOUS bloggy friend (and I’m sure IRL, too) so this one will happen! I just know it :)
I’m on the same level with you for SO many of these goals….work out, money in order, organize my house. NEED TO DO IT ALL! I also like the idea of eating cleaner- I want to look at this and figure out what it means to me.
I’m SO, SO, SO glad to have ‘met’ you in 2012! Here’s to a fabulous New Year and I agree, 2013 can only be better!

I’m so with you on #3! I’m going to turn 30 soon, too, and I feel like I have neglected myself for awhile now. I need to eat better, be more active, etc! I need to make time for ME and not feel guilty about it.
Anyway, great goals for 2013! I hope you accomplish everything and MORE! :)
Happy New Year!

Be a Better Friend was one of my “resolutions” for 2012 and let me tell you, it is so rewarding!! Knowing you’re there for your friends and putting so much energy into your relationships only makes them grow!! I have no doubt that you are already an amazing friend :)
Happy New Year, Ricci!!
