iPhone FAIL

This post contains affiliate links.

So…..I’m sitting here at Starbucks after working 12.5 hours today trying to salvage what is *hopefully* left of my iPhone. GRRRRRR!!!!!

I tried to download iOs6 yesterday just using my phone but an error message kept popping up and the un-helpful people at Apple told me all I had to do was update my iTunes first and then update my iPhone from there. Sounds simple enough right? One would think…

I don’t have wifi at my house. Apparently I live in the sticks. Whatever. Anyway I decided to take my laptop to work today and update from there. I should have stopped myself when I realized I left my laptop charger at home. But noooooo….I mean I had 80% battery so that should have been enough right?!?

Three hours later all I have accomplished is updating my iTunes, backing my phone up, and wiping my phone completely out. How does that even happen?!?! I mean I am all the way back to the start up screen. As in no phone service, no NOTHING! I am pissed at this point and of course this is when my laptop chooses to DIE!!! AHHHH!!! I am not even making this up ya’ll…..

So at this point it is 2:30pm, my phone is like a new iPhone (as in nothing on it, a clean blank slate…), and my laptop is dead as a door nail. I was so mad I could have cried. I never realized just how addicted much I use my phone. It is truly my everything. My calculator, my bank, my schedule, my phone, my social media outlet, my everything. BOO!!!

So now I am sitting at Starbucks, trying my best not to cry as my phone is “restoring” itself. If it doesn’t I guess I will have to start over from scratch. No contacts, no apps, no pictures. Wahhhhh….. :(

Better put my big girl panties on and deal with this.

** UPDATE ** my phone is working again but it restored itself back to factory settings. I lost ALL of my apps, pics, texts…EVERYTHING!!! At least it kept my contacts!!! And I swear I backed it up right before “updating” it. Stupid phone….

OH NO! I really hope it all works out for you. I’ve had my share of technological fails in the past and it’s the worst! :( xoxo – hope

You poor thing! I couldn’t imagine. When I updated mine the other night I saw someone say it wiped out all their pictures and I seriously was anxious the entire time waiting for the update to finish. Crossing my fingers tat your phone behaves! Maybe this will be an excuse to get the 5?!
