In the past two weeks I have started really watching what I eat and trying to get more active. I have always said I needed to but now it just feels right.
I have been using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone to help watch what I eat. I really like this app because it makes me stay accountable. I’m not going to say I have been perfect and stuck to it every single day but I think I have only have two “bad” days in two weeks. That’s pretty damn good for me!
I have been taking my sweet Sophie girl for walks in a nearby park every morning that I’m able (don’t have to be at work at 6:30am). One lap around the park is about a mile and a half. It has little hills, lots of shade, and it’s just soooo much better than walking indoors on a treadmill. I do two laps which is about an hour walk. I also love that Sophie is able to get out of the house and get some energy out!
Today I used the RunKeeper app to help time my walk better and tell me how far I had actually walked in my hour. I really like this app because I was just guessing before! I knew I was walking for an hour but I didn’t know my pace or exactly how far.
The best part about these two apps? They are both absolutely FREE!!
In my two weeks of walking and watching what I eat I have lost 7 pounds! And that’s just an added benefit!
