I had surgery yesterday to remove the scar tissue from my reduction I had last November. All in all I had a wonderful surgical experience. I checked in at the hospital at 8am, got back to pre-op by 8:30am, and was wheeled back to the OR at 10am! I thought this was pretty amazing because I was scheduled to have surgery at 11am and I got back there a whole hour earlier!
It was pretty fun (what I remember anyway…). My surgical nurse rolled me back to the OR, I scooted on to the OR table, my CRNA said my nails were pretty (thank you Shellac!!), they gave me tons of warm blankets, they put the mask with the gas on my face and the next thing I remember is waking up in post-op! I didn’t really have any pain but my incision (just under the right breast, from about the halfway point to the outer edge) felt like it was stinging do the nurse gave me some fentanyl to take the edge off. After that she gave me some crushed ice in a cup and then I was wheeled to outpatient post op. There I got a coke and my step-mom, Charlotte, finally got to see me and about 20 minutes later that post-op nurse gave me my discharge papers and my clothes and said I could go home! Best surgical experience EVER!! I was out of there by noon! After that Charlotte took me to Backyard Burger and then we went by Target to pick up my prescription and I was home by 2:30!
I am back at work tonight and feel pretty good. I haven’t had any problems so far other than just feeling the stinging kind of pain but I’m taking Tylenol pretty regular so that helps!! Well guess I better go do something…lol!
