Merry Christmas!!! I celebrated Christmas early with my family last Thursday night (the 23rd) and we had such a great time!!! I love getting together with all of my family and this year was no exception. We had a new addition to the celebration this year, my sweet nephew Bruce who is 6 months old. He is too cute! He was crawling everywhere and pulling up on stuff and he might have fared better without his socks on! The poor thing was slipping all over the hardwood floors…lol!! My nieces were funny too! they are 2 and 3 and know all about opening presents and let me tell you the wrapping paper was flying!! I love my family!!
And of course its not Christmas without a ton of food and this year was no different! My Dad grilled the BEST steaks and shrimp kabobs, my step-mom made crawfish gumbo, I made spicy crackers and cake balls, my sister made christmas tree cookies, and we had TONS of sweets!! Now I have to really buckle down and get this weight off after the new year! I was down 13 pounds after surgery and one week of the diet so I just hope I at least maintained!! Oh well, we will find out soon enough.
I’m going back to work tomorrow night so I’m trying to stay awake tonight so I can sleep all day tomorrow and be awake and ready to work tomorrow!! That’s going to be soooo hard. I love my job I really do, but I wish I worked day shift!! In case I haven’t mentioned it yet, I work nights as a Respiratory Therapist. When you are used to the night schedule it isn’t so bad but after being on days for 5 1/2 weeks for surgery it’s going to be hard switching back!! So I just keep telling myself I love my job, I love my job, I love my job…LOL!! I know it seems kind of crazy to be off that long then go back to work Christmas night but I have co-workers with kids so I think they should be able to spend it with them!
So, went to Dr this past Wednesday for my 5 week check and to check my “wounds”. He says they look better and the silvadene cream seems to be working so I got my work release and another check in 2 weeks!
I really hope this left side decides to settle down. The right side looks great and like a “normal” boob and the left is still swollen…but it will heal on it’s own time. I have to remember they are sisters and not twins! I saw that on a breast reduction message board and I really like that! I also have to remember that they have to heal from the inside out…blah blah blah. I just wish they would hurry up! Patience is not one of my strongest points!!
Well, I hope everyone is having a great Christmas and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season!
