It is officially the holiday season!! I had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal yesterday with my amazing family! I love this time of year. It is a time of thanks, a time of preparation, and it is a time of reflection. I have sooooo many things to give thanks for and so I thought I would share them with you!
I am thankful for a God who loves me no matter what, my amazing friends and family whom I could not live without, a job that I honestly do love, my good health and the health of those I love, all of the people who are serving our country and put their lives on the line everyday, and all of the amazing opportunities that I have had in my life.
I also said this is a time of preparation. I think that this time of the year is a preparation for things to come. Christmas is coming up quick and after that New Years! Christmas is a time of togetherness for me. I absolutely LOVE Christmas!! It is my favorite holiday!! I love Christmas for the right reasons, for family and togetherness and for the celebration of the birth of Jesus! In my family we don’t do presents anymore. I mean we do them for the babies but that’s it. Instead we have a huge party on Christmas Eve that all of my brothers and sisters come to at my parents house. We eat, we talk and catch up, and we get to see all of those sweet babies!! I like Christmas this way. It’s not about the rush to fight crowds and spend money on presents that the people you are buying it for probably don’t even want or need.I like Christmas my way :)
Preparation also includes New Years. To me New Years is a new start. Its a time to reflect on the year you have just had make changes and plan for the new year ahead. I used to make all of these impossible resolutions that I knew I couldn’t keep and then get depressed when I broke one, but in the past couple of years I have come to realize its not about wishing the impossible but about making small changes and being able to stick to them! Maybe I’m growing up, who knows! LOL
So now that I have covered the semi-serious stuff I can get to the good stuff!! I got my stitches out this past week!! Hallelujah!! I am feeling sooooo much better…I say that everyday but it’s true! Every day since my surgery I have felt way better than the day before. I heard all of these horrible post-op stories about women who couldn’t do anything for weeks after their surgery but not me! I haven’t really hurt that much! I’m loving this…LOL! So now that my stitches are out I can drive!! I already went out and bought my Christmas tree and now I can’t wait to decorate it! I will definitely post pics!
Also, this is my last week of “real” food. The diet starts next week. I have 5 weeks left of vacation and I cant wait to start eating right and get back to exercising. The exercising might be a little harder to get back into because of the surgery but I can still work out my lower body! I’m soooo excited for this. I feel like this is a season of change and I am ready for it! Bring it on!!
Well, I guess this is all for now. I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and got to spend loads of time with family and friends!!
