Hello March and welcome to National Nutrition Month! To be totally honest I didn’t even know that was a thing until recently but I am fully embracing it this year. If there is one thing I have learned during the last year and a half it is that the only person who can take care of you is YOU. No one else can do it for you and if you don’t take care of yourself first then you can’t help take care of other people. All that being said I am here today to share with you some amazing products I have recently been gifted and tell you all about how I am celebrating National Nutrition Month 2021 with BabbleBoxx.

First things first let’s talk about my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery. Yes, I may have had weight loss surgery but that doesn’t mean I took the easy way out. I have to work every single day to make good choices about what I eat and drink to make sure I am getting all of my nutrients in and that what I am eating and drinking is properly fueling my body because believe it or not, you can still make unhealthy food and drink choices with a tiny tummy.
One product I tried recently is Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar Beverages. Now I know what you’re thinking and it’s probably the same thing I thought, that ACV is nasty and I will be the first to say that the plain stuff is! It’s super tart and just not my fave drink, even when diluted. However, these drinks are made for drinking and contain 2 tablespoons of ACV in the entire thing and I think the flavors mask the vinegar pretty well. These drinks contain probiotics, are low-sugar and low-calorie and are gluten free! I think my fave flavor is the Honey and Green Tea. It’s very refreshing and I like knowing that the things I am drinking are adding to my daily dose of wellness.

One of the things I find myself doing now since I can’t eat much at one time is eating several small meals a day in order to hit my protein and water goals. One thing that really helps me is carrying high protein snacks with me at all times. I keep snacks in my work bag, my purse, my car, pretty much everywhere because the hanger is REAL. Just call me the Snack Queen, HA!
One of my favorite snacks to carry with me is Chomps meat sticks. I have always been more of a savory snacker than a sweet snacker and these meat sticks are some of my faves! I found them at a local grocery store last summer and always have at least one with me at all times. They contain zero sugar, which I LOVE because I really have to watch my sugar consumption post-surgery, and they are all under 100 calories as well as being a great source of protein. They also do not contain GMOs, gluten, soy, dairy, added sugar, added nitrates or nitrites, MSG, artificial preservatives or coloring, and artificial sweeteners. Chomps come in all sorts of flavors but my fave is the Jalapeño Beef Stick because I like a little spice in my life!
If you want to try Chomps code BABBLE20 will get you 20% off now through March 31!

If you are just getting started on your wellness journey or are smack dab in the middle one thing I think we can all use is education. Education about what, you ask? Education about your food! I don’t know about you but choosing to eat well is kind of intimidating. There are so many different diet plans to choose from and so many foods that have been labeled as “unhealthy” that it’s confusing when it comes to choosing what is best to fuel your body with. I recently discovered the Eat This Book: Knowledge to Feed Your Appetite and Inspire Your Next Meal by Stacy Michelson from Running Press and it explores 99 different foods in such a way that I could literally look at it and read it all day. It has amazing illustrations and so much useful knowledge about a ton of different foods! The chapters include Spices + Condiments; Nuts, Beans, + Grains; Fruits, Veggies, +Herbs; Coffee, Tea, Booze, + Other Beverages; Sweets + Sweeteners. Plus it’s just gorgeous…

…like I said I could look at it all day!!
And lastly let’s talk about meat..or the lack of meat. Meat is a great source of protein and one of my favorite ways to get mine in but in all honestly it’s super hard to digest. I have found that since surgery there are some meats I can tolerate better than others but it’s still hit and miss. I have always wanted to try to have Meatless Monday or just try a few meatless options but it just seems super overwhelming. Where to start? What to buy? Is it expensive? Plus let’s be real, cooking full on meals is just really time consuming. Enter into the picture, Veestro.

Veestro makes 100% fully-prepared plant-based meals that are delivered straight to your door. You literally just heat them up and eat them. Now that’s my kind of meal planning…quick, easy, good tasting and healthy! These meals are shipped frozen so you don’t feel rushed to eat them. One thing I like about Veestro is that you can order as a subscription service and have them delivered weekly or a la carte and just get them when you want them. I love that no-commitment lifestyle! HA!

I received four meals and so far have tried two and loved both of them! I’m working all weekend so I plan on eating the other two then. If you want to try Veestro for yourself code BABBLE25 gets you 25% off any order (expires March 31).
And that, friends, is all of the products I have recently thanks to BabbleBoxx. I have loved every single one of them and some I even loved before I got this box of goodies to try. If you have tried any of these products let me know!!
Happy National Nutrition Month!!!
