A couple weeks ago I wrote a blog post about what I thought of LipSense. Spoiler alert- I loved it! In fact, I loved it so much that I signed up as a distributor strictly to get the discount!! HA!! Since then I have purchased several fabulous colors and can’t wait to share them with you!
In case you missed that first post, Lexie Beary is the first LipSense color I purchased. I have worn it to work a lot and trust me when I say that it really does last throughout my entire 12 hours shift, plus a workout, plus dinner, plus life. It has literally lasted 18+ hours on me and I’m sorry but you just can’t beat that. Here is a selfie from work the other day (I was sickly feeling and none too happy about it) with my OG LipSense, Lexie Beary.
The first things I bought as a distributor were some Matte Gloss, Rhubarb and Fire N Ice. The Matte Glass is super hard to come by and I knew I would love it on my dark colors, I just don’t love a bright lip color with super shiny gloss. The Rhubarb is a red/pink color and super bright. I knew this color would be a little out of my comfort zone but I was ready for it. And the Fire N Ice was an impulse purchase. I saw it there, hoped it would look good and grabbed it! On some people it looks really burgundy and on some really pink so really it was a gamble on how it would look on me.
I decided to gamble and wore the Fire N Ice first. It went on super smooth, most LipSense does, and I loved the bright pink of it. Like I said, it pulls different on every person and I love the nice pink it pulled on me. Of course I had to test it out on a work day and it did not disappoint. I got soooo many compliments on it!
And then there was Rhubarb. Oh Rhubarb. I’m not going to lie to you. The first time I swiped it on my lips I absolutely hated it. Most LipSense colors are pretty thick when you put them on. They are like nail polish in that you have to shake them really good before you use them and you apply three super thin coats and then BAM you are good to go all day but not Rhubarb. For me Rhubarb has a super thin consistency no matter how much I shook it up and I forgot to exfoliate before I put it on so it went on super streaky. Ugh. Not good. So I wiped it off and used another color. The next day I tried again with MUCH BETTER RESULTS. I made sure to exfoliate super good, shook the shit out of it, applied my three super thin layers and let it dry about a minute in between layers. It went on SO MUCH BETTER and it is now my go-to color. LOVE me some Rhubarb.
I also use my Matte Gloss with my Rhubarb so it’s not super shiny. I do my three coats, put on a layer of Glossy Gloss to set it, wait a minute, blot it and then apply Matte. The thing I like about LipSense’s Matte Gloss is that it’s not drying. It has a satin like feel when you apply and is actually pretty moisturizing.
One thing I have found when wearing my LipSense, no matter the color, is the confidence I have when I’m wearing it. I don’t know why but when I have my lips on I feel super put together and super confident and even though that sounds weird it’s true! HA! I love how I feel when I wear it and I get so many compliments. It truly is an amazing product.
