I think it’s common knowledge around these parts how much I love to read. I love pretty much all kinds of books but especially when I know that author. I “met” Micah Chaplin through blogging a few years ago. I say “met” because we’ve actually never met in person, just online, but that totally counts in my book!
I love Micah because she’s a single lady like me and she doesn’t let that stop her from doing anything she wants. Micah also loves to read, enjoys a good beer, and is a baseball fanatic. She’s basically my spirit animal. And she’s really pretty.
Micah also loves to write. She writes on her blog, Unabashedly Me, and she also writes books. Like legit, hold in your hand (or Kindle), published author, OMG I know someone famous books. Her latest book is called Dropped Third Strike and is actually the first in the Portland Pioneers books.
About the book…
Kate Marks is hitting it out of the park as general manager of the Portland Pioneers. Her childhood friend Reid Benjamin is struggling to hit anything at all and, as a result, has suddenly found himself out of a job. When Kate hires him as hitting coach for the Pioneers, she’s determined to keep everything strictly professional, but she has underestimated Reid’s charm. His proximity has forced her to face a past she would rather forget. Reid wants another chance, but Kate isn’t convinced he’s changed his game.
The only bad news I have to share with you is that Dropped Third Strike isn’t available right now…it’s available for sale on June 6, 2016….but if you liked what you read then you can pre-order on Amazon today!! If you like Micah as much as I do then be sure to check out her blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages to get updates on Dropped Third Strike and her day-to-day life.
Congrats Micah on Dropped Third Strike, I can’t wait to read it!!!

I’ve seen some movies that sound similar to the book, but I have to say that this is the first book I’ve heard of that uses baseball as a story backdrop. Very cool!
